K15 - a generation of students growing up in adversity, shining with pride

K15 – a generation of students began their university journey in an unprecedented reality. No lecture halls, no flags, no stage to welcome new students. The first opening ceremony took place through a computer screen . The first classroom was tiny squares on the screen. No laughter from friends, no welcoming arms, just being alone… quietly facing the computer and feeling bewildered when wearing the title of “student” for the first time.
It was a quiet but never dull beginning. Because in that silence, a special generation quietly grew up, little by little, amidst the changes that the world had not yet adapted to.
The opening ceremony of the 2021-2022 school year welcomed new students of K15 without a stage or flags.
When teachers become a silent support
“We still remember the first lessons clearly. The whole class was just quiet squares, with few voices and few images. Sometimes it took a whole week to hear an awkward greeting from a student. But even though the screen was dark, the teacher's heart was still bright. We patiently texted each line, explained each word, waited for each nod on the other side of the screen... We just hoped that the students would not feel lost in the middle of a new journey...," Mr. Le The Anh - Head of the Accounting Department recalled.
When students learn to grow up without being held by the hand
Amidst the days when the world was closed, K15 quietly opened up its own path. Self-study. Self-management. Self-fighting with feelings of loneliness, deprivation, and lack of connection. But from there, a generation of students learned how to stand up without anyone's help. Know how to organize their lives, know how to manage their time, know how to persevere even when no one is watching.
“I remember there were sessions where students practiced online but still tried to draw diagrams, give presentations, and interact. The pandemic could not stop them from growing up. Every time I saw them become more confident and bolder, I was happy. I was happy because they learned the biggest thing: knowing how to stand up on their own when no one was helping them. .. ” Mr. Truong Duc Thao - Head of the Faculty of Economics & Management shared.
When teachers grow up with students
“You did not have an opening ceremony like the previous courses. But on the day you graduated, many teachers stood on the stage and choked up. Because they saw the image of a generation that had surpassed themselves. It did not start with cheers, but ended with proud and mature eyes. I believe: what you have experienced will be a valuable asset throughout your life ,” said Ms. Dao Thi Thu Giang, Principal.
All have proven one thing: K15 not only overcame the pandemic, but also surpassed itself. A generation that does not start with advantages – but ends with glory.
The generation lived quietly – but beautifully
“I call you the generation 'going against the wind'. Because even though studying in the midst of the pandemic, no one praised, no one encouraged, you still chose to live a decent life, study seriously. There are things that teachers don't need to teach, you also understand - because the circumstances have taught you to grow up. And we - are truly grateful to be your companions during those years ," shared Mr. Tran Hai Duong - Head of the Department of Korean Language & Culture.
Graduation – to start a new journey
After the graduation ceremony, the journey will no longer have teachers taking attendance, no more deadlines for students to compete. But there will be a real world – where every choice is a turning point, where every failure is a real lesson.
And there, you will understand more clearly than ever: it is the days of studying in silence, studying alone, and rising up silently… that have tempered you more firmly than anyone else.
“In the future, when you enter the real world, there will be no teachers reminding you to submit your assignments, nor will anyone give you extra deadlines. But I hope you remember: when things are difficult, Dai Nam is still a place you can return to. When you need a place to start over, the teachers are always ready. Because once you call each other ‘teacher – student’, it is a long-lasting relationship…” , Ms. Cao Thi Hoa - Vice President of the School Board advised.
Goodbye K15 and see you again…
Therefore, live worthy of all the love you have received. And don't forget: from a quiet beginning, K15 has written a brilliant ending.
Wishing K15 - the most special generation of students of DNU - to courageously step out into the world, with sincere hearts and burning aspirations.
Goodbye! And see you again… in the successful days that you yourselves will create.
