Overview of the 2015 National High School Exam. All questions of candidates will be answered through this article.

1. Exam subjects:

- Take a maximum of 08 subjects including 03 compulsory subjects: Math, Literature, Foreign Language and 05 elective subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography.

- To graduate from high school, candidates must take 3 compulsory subjects and 1 elective subject.

- To apply for university or college, candidates must take exams in subjects according to the subject combination prescribed for the major they want to study.

2. Exemption from exams and regulations for replacing Foreign Language subjects:

- Member of the national team participating in the International Foreign Language Olympics according to the Decision of the Minister of Education and Training.

- Candidates with international certificates as prescribed will be exempted from the Foreign Language exam and will be counted as 10 points for high school graduation consideration.

- For admission to University and College, candidates need to see the specific announcement of the school they want to apply to. If the school does not recognize the exemption score as an admission score, candidates must take a foreign language test to get the admission score.

3. Exemption from all 4 exams in high school graduation exam

a) Object

- People with extremely severe disabilities and people with severe disabilities as prescribed in Clause 1 and Clause 2, Article 3 of Decree No. 28/2012/ND-CP dated April 10, 2012 of the Government;

- Resistance fighters infected with toxic chemicals have a working capacity reduction of 61% or more;

- Children of resistance fighters infected with toxic chemicals, whose working capacity is reduced by 61% or more.

b) Conditions

- For people with disabilities studying under the general education program:

+ Completed high school program; eligible to take the exam according to regulations.

+ Have a certificate of disability issued by a competent authority.

- For people with disabilities who do not meet the general education program:

+ The Principal of the high school where you register to study confirms the results of implementing the Personal Education Plan each year at the high school level;

+ Have a certificate of disability issued by a competent authority.

- For resistance fighters and children of resistance fighters infected with toxic chemicals:

+ Completed high school program; eligible to take the exam according to regulations

+ Have a certificate of exposure to toxic chemicals and a reduction in working capacity of 61% or more issued by a competent authority.

4. Exemption from all subjects of the national high school exam

- People who have participated in the national team selection exam for the International Olympic or Regional Olympic cultural subjects are exempted from all subjects of the national high school exam if they meet the following conditions:

+ Summoned into semester 2 grade 12;

+ Grade 12 ranking: good conduct, good academic performance or better;

+ Name on the list of exemptions from the Ministry of Education and Training.

- Team members participating in international or regional Olympic competitions in science and technology, sports, culture and arts are exempted from all subjects of the national high school exam if they meet the following conditions:

+ Summoned into semester 2 grade 12;

+ Grade 12 ranking: conduct and academic performance from average and above;

+ Have your name in the official dispatch requesting exemption from the exam and confirming your attendance at training and taking the exam in accordance with the regulations of the selection agency sent to the Department of Education and Training before the national high school exam date.

5. Special high school graduation

- Having an accident, being sick or having a special emergency, no more than 10 days before the exam date or on the first exam day, cannot take the exam. Conditions: academic performance and conduct for the whole year in grade 12 are all good or better;

- Having an accident, falling ill or having a special emergency after taking at least one exam and cannot continue taking the exam or after having an accident, falling ill or having a special emergency, voluntarily taking the remaining exams. Conditions: The exam scores of the subjects taken for graduation recognition must all be 5.0 or higher; Grade 12 classification: average academic performance or higher, good conduct or higher.

6. Exam questions: increase open questions, reduce mechanical memorization requirements, exam questions are built based on the current high school program, mainly the grade 12 program.

7. Score:

- Maintain 10-point scale: All exams are graded on a 10-point scale as before.

- The failing score in the high school graduation exam is 1.0: According to the high school exam regulations, candidates who score 1.0 or less per exam or are disciplined by having their exams canceled for graduation subjects will not be eligible to graduate from high school.

- High school graduation consideration 50% points from transcripts: According to the high school exam regulations, the Departments of Education and Training are responsible for considering graduation recognition based on the results of at least 4 subjects and the average score of the entire 12th grade year. Thus, the graduation consideration score (DXTN) of candidates will be calculated as follows:

Candidates with a graduation score of 5.0 or higher and no exam scores of 1.0 or lower will be considered for graduation recognition and awarded a high school diploma.

8. Candidates have the right to request a review of their exam:

- Candidates have the right to request a review and must pay the prescribed fee. Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training will receive the review request within 10 days from the date of announcement of the scores.

- Within 15 days from the deadline for receiving appeals, the Examination Council must announce the results of the appeal.

9. Timelines to remember:

- Deadline for submitting application is April 30, 2015.

- Candidates are allowed to change their national high school exam subjects before May 27 : The Ministry of Education and Training requests that the Departments of Education and Training and universities continue to allow candidates to adjust information in the Exam Registration Form (if they wish) before May 27, including adjusting the chosen exam subjects, instead of the previously announced deadline of April 30.

10. Exam cluster:

- There are 2 types of exam clusters: Exam clusters chaired by universities, exam clusters chaired by the Department of Education and Training.

- The exam format and exam questions of the exam clusters are the same, the only difference is that the exam results at the clusters chaired by universities are used for admission to universities and colleges. However, candidates taking the exam at the clusters chaired by the Department of Education and Training can still apply for admission to schools that only consider high school transcripts.

COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY ADMISSION

1.Conditions for candidates to participate in the exam

- For candidates applying to schools that organize their own admissions: Meet the admission requirements specified in Article 6 of the Admissions Regulations; Meet the admission requirements specified in the school's autonomous admissions project.

- For candidates applying to schools using the results of the national high school exam for admission: Meet the admission requirements specified in Article 6 of the Admission Regulations; Have registered to use the results of the national high school exam for admission to universities and colleges.

- The total score of the subjects of the subject group used for admission is not lower than the admission score prescribed by the school and no subject in the admission combination has a result of 1.0 point or lower; Meet other requirements for admission conditions prescribed by the school and publicly announced on the school's website.

2. Admission time:

- Admission for wish 1: from August 1 to 20 (admission score announced no later than August 25)

- 1st round of additional recruitment: from August 25 to September 15 (admission scores announced before September 20)

- 2nd round of additional recruitment: from September 20 to October 5 (admission scores announced before October 10)

- 3rd round of additional recruitment: from October 10 to October 25 (admission scores announced before October 31)

- 4th round of additional recruitment (colleges): from October 31 to November 15 (admission scores announced before November 20).

3. Application process and documents

- Admission to the first choice: Candidates can only use the Certificate of Exam Results used for admission to the first choice to register for 1 university or college. At each school, candidates can register for a maximum of 4 choices in the majors ranked in order of priority from 1 to 4; During the 20 days of admission to the first choice, if necessary, candidates can adjust the registered choice at that school or withdraw their application to register for another school. The choices (from 1 to 4 in a school) of the candidate have the same admission value. Candidates who are admitted to the previous choice will not be considered for the following choices; Candidates who have been admitted to the first choice will not be allowed to register for additional admission rounds.

- Consideration of additional wishes: Candidates can use 3 certificates of exam results for additional wishes at the same time to register for a maximum of 3 schools and in each school can register for a maximum of 4 wishes in order of priority from 1 to 4; The wishes (from 1 to 4 in a school) of the candidate have the same admission value. Candidates who are admitted to the previous wish will not be considered for the following wishes;

- During each additional admission round, candidates are not allowed to withdraw their application. After each admission round, if they are not admitted, they can withdraw their application to register for admission in the next additional admission round; Candidates who have been admitted to the school are not allowed to participate in the next additional admission round.

4. Registration documents include:

- The application form clearly states the admission round, and can register for 4 majors of a school for each admission round. The wishes are ranked in order of priority from 1 to 4. Each wish must clearly state the major registered for admission and the combination of subjects used for admission; The original Certificate of Exam Results clearly states the admission round and the scores of all subjects that the candidate has registered to take, with the red seal of the school hosting the exam cluster; 1 envelope with stamps, clearly stating the candidate's full name, address, and contact phone number.

- Candidates who do not use the right to direct admission, meet the requirements specified in Clause 3, Article 7 of the Admission Regulations, the Admission Registration File includes: Application form for priority admission according to the form specified in the Guidelines for direct admission and priority admission to universities and colleges in 2015; One of the following certificates: Certificate of winning the national high school excellent student exam; Certificate of winning the national science and technology competition; Certificate of winning an international award in sports and artistic talent.

5. Submit application and registration fee:

- Within the prescribed time limit of each admission round, candidates submit their application documents and application fees by post via express delivery, priority delivery or directly at the school; Candidates' application documents and application fees, whether submitted by post via express delivery, priority delivery or directly at the school within the prescribed time limit of each admission round, are valid and have the same admission value.

- To facilitate the participants in the registration process, universities and colleges are encouraged to allow candidates to change their registration wishes online. 6. Determine admission score:

Schools base on the determined enrollment quota, after deducting the number of candidates admitted directly (including the number of preparatory students of the school and students of preparatory schools assigned to the school); base on the regulations on priority score framework and enrollment area; base on the results of analyzing the response to the registration wishes of candidates for the school's majors provided by the computer, the Secretariat submits to the school's Admissions Council for consideration and decision on the admission score plan.

7. Update registration data and publicize the list of candidates registering for admission to the school:

- At least once a day, schools update the registration information (including the list of candidates who registered for the exam and the list of candidates who withdrew their registration) into the national enrollment data management system and receive candidate data from the system for admission consideration;

- During the application period of an admission round, every three days, schools publish on their websites a list of candidates who have registered for admission to the school by major and ranked by exam results from highest to lowest. The Ministry of Education and Training encourages schools to publish temporary admission results updated to the date of announcement.
