Dai Nam University welcomes new Vice President - Prof. Dr. Luu Ngoc Hoat: Promoting academic strength and connecting community health

Dai Nam University (DNU) officially appointed Prof. Dr. Luu Ngoc Hoat - former Vice Rector of Hanoi Medical University to hold the position of Vice Rector.

The event marked an important step forward in the strategy to improve the quality of health training of the School, and at the same time clearly demonstrated the orientation of sustainable development, strengthening academic strength, promoting international cooperation, technology transfer and promoting training models associated with community service.

Prof. Dr. Luu Ngoc Hoat is a leading people's teacher, educational administrator and medical research expert in Vietnam. He was trained from undergraduate to postgraduate level at prestigious domestic and international institutions such as : Hanoi Medical University, National University of the Philippines (Master of Medical Research, 1993-1995) and Free University of Amsterdam, Netherlands (PhD in Medical Education, 2004-2008).

During his 38 years working at Hanoi Medical University (1983–2021), Professor Hoat has held many key leadership positions such as : Vice Rector (12 years), Deputy Director of Hanoi Medical University Hospital (10 years), Head of the Department of Research Methods - Biomedical Statistics (11 years), Director of the Center for Social Demand Training (6 years), Director of the Center for Training and Community Health Care (8 years). He has chaired and participated in the implementation of more than 30 international cooperation projects on medical education innovation, capacity building for lecturers, research and hospital management at 8 medical universities nationwide, with a total non-refundable aid of more than 43 million USD and nearly 26 million Euros.

With a solid academic foundation and passion for medical education, Prof. Dr. Luu Ngoc Hoat will work with Dai Nam University to strongly develop the Health sector in the coming time.

In recent times, Professor Hoat has continued to take on the role of strategic consultant and manager in building medical training models and developing healthcare ecosystems at several universities, contributing to the establishment of many new faculties, expanding training codes and establishing service centers according to social needs.

Prof. Dr. Luu Ngoc Hoat is the author of 47 books, more than 100 domestic articles and nearly 50 international ISI/SCOPUS articles. He has successfully supervised 13 PhD students and 22 master's students, including many international students. His H-index is 20, with more than 1,000 international citations - demonstrating significant influence in the medical science community.

With a solid academic foundation, extensive management experience and passion for medical education, Prof. Dr. Luu Ngoc Hoat is expected to contribute to the strong development of the Health sector of Dai Nam University, international integration and sustainability for the benefit of the community.
