What awaits teachers and students at the 2024 Love Cake program with the theme Returning to the Old Tet?

“The Cake of Love” is an annual charity program of Dai Nam University every Tet holiday. The program demonstrates the spirit of mutual love of DNU teachers and students with the less fortunate in society. This spring, along with organizing the program “The Cake of Love”, the school wants to bring students a traditional Tet space with the theme “Returning to the old Tet”, to help students understand and preserve the traditional cultural values of the nation, arouse love for the homeland, pride and awareness to preserve and protect Vietnam forever...

After 12 consecutive years of implementation, the program "Tam banh nghia tinh" has mobilized 15,000 teachers and students to participate; raised more than 3 billion VND; and donated nearly 30,000 green banh chung to the less fortunate in society. This year, the program "Tam banh nghia tinh - Back to the old Tet" takes place from January 24-25, 2024 with many exciting and attractive activities.

One of the reasons why “The Love Cake” has created a “resonance” in society is that each banh chung is personally wrapped – boiled – scooped – pressed by the staff, lecturers and students of the school. Every stage of preparation is carefully done by teachers and students to create the best quality cakes to give to the less fortunate in society.

Each cake is wrapped with love, sincerity and respect from each DNU staff, lecturer and student.

Through the program, students not only learn how to wrap banh chung but are also educated about personality, sense of responsibility to the community and society; and are more grateful and appreciative of what they have.

Vietnam is one of the countries with unique cultural traditions and customs. In particular, Lunar New Year is considered a form that bears the unique mark of each ethnic group and each region.

This year, Dai Nam University will take teachers “back in time” to discover the beauty of the ancient Tet culture of the three regions: North – Central – South. Through the arrangement of each booth, each meal tray… we will see the meticulousness, perfectionism and unlimited creativity of teachers and students of Dai Nam University.

Experience Vietnamese traditional costumes

Traditional costumes are one of the unique features of the Vietnamese people's timeless cultural values. After thousands of years of civilization, as people's lives become more and more modernized and fashion trends change, traditional costumes still retain their core values and are an unchanging cultural symbol of the Vietnamese people.

In the program "Tam banh nghia tinh" in 2024, Gen Z will be able to admire the "peak" traditional costume performance of the school's staff and lecturers. At the same time, students will also have the opportunity to wear beautiful traditional cultural costumes and have for themselves "super cool" check-in photos. Thereby awakening the self-esteem and national pride of each young person of Dai Nam University.

In particular, DNU students have the opportunity to wear traditional costumes and walk on the runway with Miss Luong Thuy Linh – an assistant lecturer of the Faculty of Business Administration. This is a unique opportunity that not every young person has.

Show off your business skills at the rural Tet market

Going to the Tet market is a custom that has been associated with Vietnamese people for generations. People go to the Tet market not only to shop but also to meet, share and enjoy the bustling, excited atmosphere when Tet comes.

To make the atmosphere more exciting, Dai Nam University decided to organize the contest "Travel Tet Market Business" for students to show off their business skills and apply lessons learned in class into practice.

Mr. Vu Dang Tuan Anh - Secretary of the School Youth Union said: 100% of the products for sale are specialties of the regions, dishes that have made up the "soul" of Vietnamese people from the past to the present. At the program, students will return to their childhood with games such as: Tug of war, throwing con, hopscotch, jumping rope, bamboo pole jumping, dragon and snake up to the clouds... The soft, graceful strokes of the calligraphers are wishes for all DNU staff, lecturers and students for a new year of prosperity and peace.
