This April, DNUERs will have the opportunity to explore thousands of great books; meet famous speakers, reputable bookstores... right at school with the program "Dai Nam University Book Festival 2023". The event is in response to "The 2nd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2023" with many special activities demonstrating the goal of developing a reading culture of DNU teachers and students.

The constant development of science and technology, the Internet and social networking platforms such as Facebook, Tiktok, Youtube... makes reading books increasingly become a "luxury" in modern society, especially for the GenZ generation.

Meanwhile, books are the greatest teachers of mankind, reading books is like riding on the shoulders of giants. The endless source of knowledge in books helps people develop their brains, vocabulary, thinking ability, research, application, education and personality improvement; opening up many opportunities for development in life.

Realizing the importance of reading in training and developing a comprehensive person, right from the first days of its establishment, Dai Nam University has paid special attention to building and developing a reading culture in the student community. Each teacher always strives to be a shining example of the spirit of reading, studying, and scientific research. The school constantly updates its list of books, documents, textbooks, etc. to best serve the learning, research, and reading needs of students.

Grand book fair

This year, many famous bookstores such as Nha Nam, Alpha Books, Quang Van Books, etc. will "storm" Dai Nam University Square with thousands of new books. Here, young people can buy new books at preferential prices.

The book fair will "bombard" Dai Nam University square on April 19.

Mr. Vu Dang Tuan Anh - Secretary of the School Youth Union said: "All profits from book sales are counted and made public at the event. All will be contributed to the project of building a community bookshelf in the Green Summer 2023 volunteer program of the Dai Nam University Student Volunteer Team".

Meet the famous speakers

During the Festival, students had the opportunity to meet and interact with two famous speakers, historian Le Van Lan and speaker Nguyen Quoc Vuong.

At the seminar “Students with national history and the meaning of the name Dai Nam University” , historian Le Van Lan will share with students of Dai Nam University knowledge about the culture, history, traditions of the country and the school… In addition, young people will have the opportunity to directly ask questions and interact with historian Le Van Lan.

Talkshow “Reading in the digital age” with Speaker Nguyen Quoc Vuong will help young people better understand the benefits of reading; the impact of books on thinking, personality training, etc. Methods of reading, memorizing, and selecting information; how to choose books effectively, suitable for interests and work.

At the end of the talk, students had the opportunity to receive autographs and take souvenir photos with the speakers.

In addition to reading and buying books, students can also exchange books for books, bonsai and many attractive gifts. Those who support 3 or more books (not including textbooks, newspapers, magazines) will receive a special gift from the Organizing Committee.

The Book and Action Club was officially launched at the “Dai Nam University Book Festival 2023”. This is a gathering place for young people who love books and want to spread the reading culture to students of the whole school in particular and society in general.

The club currently attracts hundreds of students from all courses. It shows the interest of young people in reading and the desire to introduce good books to everyone.

Students will participate in a meaningful activity called “Giọt hồng Đại Nam” with the noble act of donating blood to save lives. This is a beautiful humane feature in today’s society, demonstrating the responsibility of each individual to the community.

Blood donation festival "Dai Nam Red Drops" is an annual activity of Dai Nam University.

When donating blood, students “benefit” in many ways such as: free health check-ups and consultations; being informed of blood test results (completely confidential) about blood types and diseases such as HIV/AIDS or malaria; being granted a voluntary blood donation certificate by the steering committee of humanitarian blood donation of the Central Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion; voluntary blood donors are also compensated with blood up to the amount of blood donated when an incident occurs; receiving meaningful gifts from the School.
