Dai Nam University (school code: DDN) expands enrollment quota for Semiconductor Technology, while promoting international cooperation to train global engineers.

According to IC Insights , in the period 2025-2035, the demand for human resources in the global semiconductor industry is forecast to grow at a double-digit rate each year. In Vietnam, this is a strategic industry when many large corporations such as Intel, Samsung, Amkor, Hana Micron... are increasing investment and expanding production, leading to the need to recruit thousands of engineers each year.

In the next 5 years, Vietnam will need about 20,000 microchip and semiconductor engineers. This number will increase to 50,000 in the next 10 years. However, the current human resource supply is only about 5,000 people, meeting only about 20% of the actual demand.

Surveys show that students majoring in microchips and semiconductors can earn between VND215 million and VND500 million per year after graduation. For good and experienced engineers, the salary can exceed VND1.3 billion per year.

Taking advantage of the flexible joint training program, diverse scholarship policies and professional support from experts at large technology schools and enterprises in Taiwan (China), Dai Nam University (DNU) opens a Semiconductor Technology training program and enrolls students from the 2024-2025 school year.

By the 2025-2026 school year, the school will continue to expand its enrollment and strengthen international cooperation, aiming to train a generation of global standard engineers, ready to join the global high-tech supply chain.

One of the highlights of the program is that students study in an international environment in Vietnam, accessing modern knowledge and updated curriculum. Vietnamese and Taiwanese lecturers participate in teaching, providing a multi-dimensional perspective.

Graduates are awarded an internationally recognized degree, have the opportunity to intern at technology corporations with an income of up to 1,000 USD per month, and receive tuition support and scholarships from partner schools and the Taiwanese Government.

In the semiconductor industry development strategy, Dai Nam University established the Semiconductor Technology Transfer Center, which integrates laboratory systems, simulates the design process, manufactures microchips and tests semiconductor products.

Here, students can access internationally standardized equipment and practice specialized subjects such as digital system design, integrated circuit design, computer programming and digital logic, analog and digital electronic circuits, electronic circuit board design, physics and semiconductor components.

In addition, students have the opportunity to participate in research topics and technology transfer projects with domestic and foreign lecturers and experts. The training model combines theory and practice to help students be ready to enter the labor market after graduation.

According to a representative of Dai Nam University, in the 2025 school year, the school will prioritize recruiting candidates with career orientation in the high-tech field, innovative thinking and foreign language skills. In addition to the training program, students will also be accompanied by a wide network of cooperative businesses, supporting internships, recruitment and career orientation from the second year.

Vietnam is aiming to become a new semiconductor manufacturing center in Asia. Along with the investment attraction policy, the Semiconductor Technology sector opens up many development potentials. With a systematic training program, international degrees and links with businesses, Dai Nam University contributes to training human resources to serve this industry.
