Not only providing professional knowledge, the Faculty of Tourism of Dai Nam University (DNU) also pays special attention to nurturing personality and moral values for students. Participating in the Vu Lan 2024 ceremony at Tam Chuc Pagoda (Ha Nam), students majoring in Tourism and Travel Services Management not only have the opportunity to learn about culture and history but also experience meaningful activities; thereby imbuing gratitude towards parents, ancestors and comprehensively developing personality.

Practical and meaningful experiences

On August 9-10, 2024, more than 500 students from Dai Nam University, Hanoi University of Culture, University of Commerce, Vietnam-USA College, Hanoi... were present at Tam Chuc Pagoda to attend Vu Lan Ceremony 2024 with the theme "Filial Piety".

Here, young people experience many meaningful activities, bringing profound lessons and values about filial piety, morality and solidarity.

Specifically, students of Dai Nam University and students from other universities visited the construction projects at Tam Chuc Pagoda complex, and listened to Venerable Thich Minh Quang - Deputy Abbot of Tam Chuc Pagoda lecture on "The Lifestyle of Youth". The profound sharing aroused in them the awareness of self-training, improving morality and developing good qualities, shaping a positive and meaningful lifestyle for the future.

In the solemn atmosphere of the Vu Lan Dharma Assembly to show filial piety in Buddhist calendar 2568 - Gregorian calendar 2024, young people performed the ritual of chanting sutras, reciting Buddha's name and praying for the deceased, creating a deep connection with the teachings of filial piety.

The “rose pinning” ceremony arouses in students’ hearts gratitude for the birth and upbringing of their parents and ancestors. This is a strong reminder of the responsibility to preserve moral values and love in each person.

In addition, you can also participate in team games at the camping experience area in the Temple grounds. This activity not only strengthens cohesion and cooperation but also helps members build trust, respect and strong team spirit. The performance contest with the theme "Parenting Grace" and the lantern releasing ceremony are opportunities for you to express your gratitude to your parents, and pray for national peace, world peace, and happiness and peace for humanity.

Within the framework of these activities, Dai Nam University students have won first prize in the physical game competition, and second prize in the animation competition. This achievement not only demonstrates the students’ efforts and talents, but also affirms their careful preparation and strong team spirit.
