Typhoon Yagi, the strongest in three decades, fails to subdue Dai Nam University

This morning, September 9, when the first rays of sunlight shone down on the yard of Dai Nam University, teachers and students entered the school gate with an indescribable feeling. Everyone was mentally prepared for the scene of devastation after super typhoon Yagi - the strongest typhoon in the past three decades. But before the eyes of teachers and students, the school was still sturdy, clean, and majestic as if the storm had never passed through. The feeling of surprise, mixed with emotion, made each step slow and full of contemplation and pride.
The level 13-14 gusts of Typhoon Yagi uprooted hundreds of trees, knocked down garage roofs, and covered the schoolyard with branches and dry leaves.
The scene of Dai Nam University campus was devastated after the super typhoon swept through.
The royal poinciana road was littered with broken branches.
Nearly 200 trees, accounting for about 40% of the total number of trees in the school, were uprooted and broken in the storm despite being reinforced.
Yet, overnight, all traces of that devastation seemed to have miraculously disappeared.
The road leading to the school, previously littered with the remnants of the storm, was now clean. The buildings were sturdy, intact, without a scratch. The trees on both sides of the path had been cared for, trimmed, and kept safe, standing straight as if welcoming the teachers and students back.

5 buildings are absolutely safe. The square and paths in the school have been cleaned. Trees have been reinforced. The roof of the garage has also been repaired. Broken branches have been cleaned and trimmed neatly to ensure absolute safety for teachers and students when they return to school.
The amazement came not only from the school’s scenery but also from the hearts that felt the strength of unity and the wholehearted efforts of the staff, employees and students. Just one day before, we had to face the devastation of nature, but with love and responsibility for the school, we together turned the school back to its best state, almost like it had never experienced a storm.
50 officers and employees of the Administration Department were mobilized and on duty day and night, before, during and after the storm, to respond and quickly overcome the consequences.
The image of dedicated staff working tirelessly throughout the night of September 8th truly moved and made people feel proud.
And we cannot fail to mention the volunteer spirit of the students, ready to join hands with teachers to clean up after the storm - those actions are truly precious!
The day the storm passed! Dai Nam University was peaceful, clean, and fresh as ever. None of us could have imagined that just a few hours ago, a hurricane had swept through here, leaving behind terrifying traces. With the resilient spirit and determination of the entire school, Dai Nam University once again affirmed its steadfastness and strong vitality, overcoming all challenges.
Dai Nam University is still here, proud, radiant and ready to welcome a new day full of hope.
