Record high university admission scores, what are the chances for candidates who fail their wishes?

University benchmark scores increase dramatically, many schools "break" the 30-point mark
According to statistics, in 2021, the whole country had 1,015,000 candidates registering for the high school graduation exam, of which 795,353 candidates registered for university admission (an increase of more than 150,000 candidates compared to 2020).
Hot industries have exceptionally high benchmark scores.
With the number of candidates increasing; the exam questions being "easier" than in 2020; the quota for the high school graduation exam score method of schools being less than in previous years, the university admission score is predicted to increase by 2-3 points and it is unlikely that the admission score will exceed the threshold of 30 points.
However, the reality of the 2021 university admission scores has been beyond the experts' predictions. Many schools have had their admission scores increase by 2-5 points, and some majors even had a "shocking" increase of 8-9 points compared to 2020. The top schools continue to maintain sky-high admission scores of 28-29-30 points. Notably, this year also set a record for admission scores exceeding the absolute threshold of 30.5 points.
The shocking increase in benchmark scores has left candidates in a state of “half-crying, half-laughing”. Many candidates with high scores of 26-27 points still failed their first choice, or even all their choices, because they applied to “top” schools and did not know how to arrange their choices.
What are the chances for candidates who fail their wishes?
For candidates who fail their wishes, Dr. Luong Cao Dong - Principal of Dai Nam University advises not to panic or worry but to stay calm and continue to look for other ways to have the opportunity to study at university.
Dai Nam University has announced that it will stop accepting applications for some majors that have met the quota.
“Candidates who fail their wishes but still want to study at Dai Nam University can take advantage of the high school transcript admission method. Currently, the school is still enrolling some majors using this method. However, candidates need to research and quickly register for admission because the quota for this method is not much, especially for hot majors such as: Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Information Technology, E-commerce, Communications... In addition, candidates can register for additional admission to the school. Information about additional admission will be publicly announced by the school on the school's website and fanpage..." said Dr. Luong Cao Dong.

Candidates confirm admission by submitting the original certificate of the 2021 high school graduation exam results by post to the school before 5:00 p.m. on September 26. After September 26, if the candidate does not confirm admission, Dai Nam University has the right to automatically cancel the admission results and remove the candidate from the admission list…”
After completion, however, candidates still need to prepare hard copies of documents for express delivery or submit directly to the school.
