Preclinical Center (Skillslab) - A solid practice foundation for Medical and Nursing students at Dai Nam University

To train a good doctor or nurse, in addition to standard professional knowledge, students need to be trained in professional skills in a practical, systematic and realistic environment. At Dai Nam University (school code DDN), health students are taught and practiced from the first years at the Preclinical Center (Skillslab) - one of the modern and synchronous simulation practice centers, contributing to the creation of a closed and high-quality training ecosystem of the University.

Associate Professor , Doctor, Senior Lecturer Hoang Duc Hanh - Head of the Faculty of Medicine , Dai Nam University emphasized: " Every good doctor and nurse is not only formed from textbooks or theoretical lectures in the classroom , but also from skillful hands, an alert heart and thousands of hours of quiet, meticulous practice . And to prepare for the mission of training a team of good general practitioners and nurses to contribute to the cause of caring for and protecting public health , Dai Nam University has created a safe, practical, standardized and inspiring space for learning and training medical skills: the Preclinical Center (Skillslab).

This is where Medical and Nursing students practice their skills systematically and systematically - from basic to advanced, from simple techniques to complex situations through simulated patient models, diverse simulated situations of all ages, diseases and injuries, helping learners develop comprehensively in both expertise and clinical thinking.

The preclinical center is designed based on the leading advanced models in Vietnam such as: Simulation and Skills Training Center of Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy ; ACTS Center of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy ; Preclinical Center of Hanoi Medical University; Hai Phong Medical University....

Combined with: Actual training scale at Dai Nam University ; Medical and Nursing curriculum ; Especially more than 20 years of experience of the team of experts in implementing simulation centers.

Associate Professor , Dr. Hoang Duc Hanh - Dean of the Faculty of Medicine , Dai Nam University said : "We built this center with the core goal of creating a safe space for students to practice before approaching real patients. Practicing many times on the model helps them become more confident, more proficient, and especially minimize errors when entering the clinical environment."

The Preclinical Center includes a system of specialized practice rooms:

• Internal Medicine, Emergency Resuscitation Department
• Surgery – Trauma
• Obstetrics and Pediatrics Department
• Procedure room: teaching skills of injection, infusion, catheter placement , wound care...

MSc. BSNT Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen - Lecturer of Internal Medicine shared : "Dividing by specialty helps students access coherent knowledge, practice skills effectively and in depth."

Each classroom is a serious training space but also a place to nurture steadfastness, compassion and responsibility - the core values of a physician.

An Thi Khanh Ly - a student of YDK Class 1702 shared : "Before, I was very worried when going to the hospital, afraid of making mistakes. But after studying and practicing many times at the center, I feel much more confident. Everything is learned step by step clearly, from injection, infusion to emergency or catheter placement... We are trained as if we were in a real hospital."

The Preclinical Center - (Skillslab) is not only a place to train skills, but also a place to form courage, medical ethics and a spirit of readiness to serve the community. Here, students not only practice skills but are "tempered" by practical experience , by professional responsibility - and by a heart that knows how to serve humanity.
