Mock press conference: Students of the Faculty of Communication, Dai Nam University are like "professionals"

“Training linked to practice, enhancing maximum experience” is one of the standards that Dai Nam University applies to its student programs. Accordingly, students of the Faculty of Communication have continuously organized successful mock press conferences. This is a useful and interesting practice activity that helps students gain early experience and professional skills.

Mock press conferences are practical training contents of the Press Relations course for students of the Faculty of Communication. The topics chosen are current issues that attract public attention.

These practical activities gave students the opportunity to demonstrate their acquired skills in the most flexible and professional manner.

The content of the press conference revolves around the hypothetical scenario: The new Miss Universe 2023 after being crowned has been involved in many controversies surrounding her statements, causing outrage among the online community, affecting the image and reputation of the contest. After analyzing the problem, students of class QHCC 14-01 proposed holding a hypothetical press conference "Correcting rumors surrounding the new Miss Universe 2023" as a smart solution for the Organizing Committee of the Miss Universe 2023 contest, demonstrating openness of information and willingness to dialogue with the public through the press.

Although it was just a hypothetical situation, the questions from the reporters were all “difficult” questions, demonstrating the seriousness and sharp thinking in the students’ activities of researching and exploiting information. Although they are only second-year students, the students showed confidence that was no less than that of their "seniors" in class K14.

From there, I understood that answering the press is not an easy activity and situations with the press are always unpredictable, requiring people working in the media to be very knowledgeable about the issue and always be careful in their statements", the practical activities have helped me understand much more deeply about the profession I am studying" .

Organizing mock press conferences not only trains students in many skills and practical work experience, aiming to help students meet competency standards, ensuring the requirements of Professional knowledge - skills to apply knowledge into practice; but also trains students to have a positive attitude towards work and life, helping them have a solid knowledge and experience base after graduation to be able to apply for a job immediately with an attractive income.
