Many candidates wrote the wrong major code when applying for university.

On the second day of registration, realizing that candidates made many mistakes, the GX school group gave 3 notes to ensure the rights of students in the first round of admission.

Firstly, candidates entered the MAJOR CODE incorrectly, leading to the inability to enter their registration wishes into the system. This may be because candidates got the major code from unofficial sources. Candidates can see the official major code of the GX group here. Hanoi University of Science and Technology had to print information on major codes, school codes, and quotas of 12 schools in the GX group, and post it on the bulletin board in the application submission area for candidates to refer to if they come to the school to register for admission.

Second, candidates submit multiple application forms (more than 1) when applying for admission to the GX group. This may happen because candidates submit application forms at the school but still register online through the website of the Ministry of Education and Training; candidates submit application forms at this school in the GX group, then submit another form at another school also in the GX group; or submit by post and register online...

According to regulations, when applying for admission to schools in the GX group, candidates only need to submit one Application Form. If multiple applications are submitted, the system will only accept the first application form. Other applications will be invalid.

Finally, for schools that have set a minimum score for a group of majors, candidates should note that the admission score must satisfy this preliminary condition to avoid being disqualified from registering.

Associate Professor Dr. Tran Van Top, Vice President of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, said that all admission information is specifically guided on the GX group's website at http://tsgx.vn as well as through previous admission consultation sessions. Most candidates ask about majors and which schools they should apply to with this score, not about the registration procedures when considering admission.

In reality, when coming to school to submit their application, many students brought registration forms downloaded from the internet that were not from the GX group. Admissions officers had to print out the forms and leave them in the application submission area so that students could register correctly. Some parents and candidates even referred to the 2015 admissions guide, leading to incorrect major codes.

"When registering for schools in the group, parents and candidates should carefully research the information and accurately write down the major and school codes on the official GX group page or on each school's website to avoid confusion and loss of admission rights," Mr. Top noted.

GX is a group of 12 universities and academies in the Hanoi area that jointly implement a university and college admission method in 2016 according to the Autonomous Admission Project by Group of Schools approved by the Ministry of Education and Training. The 12 schools include: Hanoi University of Science and Technology, National Economics University, University of Construction, Foreign Trade University, University of Water Resources, University of Transport, University of Mining and Geology, Hanoi University of Industry, University of Transport Technology, Banking Academy, Thang Long University and Academy of Development Policy.

Candidates can register for admission to many schools in the group, each school has 1 or 2 wishes, but the total number of wishes registered cannot exceed 4 in the first round and cannot exceed 6 in the additional admission rounds. For example, in the first round, candidates can register for admission to 4 different schools in the group if each school registers 1 wish, or register for 3 different schools in the group if they register 2 wishes for one school and the remaining 2 wishes for 2 schools.

Candidates who have registered for admission to 2 schools in the group in the first round or 3 schools in the group in the additional round are not allowed to register for admission to schools outside the group. When registering, you do not have to select all your wishes, but the wishes that you have not registered for must be crossed out to confirm that you have not selected them. Note that candidates must arrange their wishes in order of priority from top to bottom.
