Lecturers of the Faculty of Communication "go ahead" of modern teaching trends by applying high technology to their lectures.

That is the sharing of Dr. Nguyen Viet Anh - Vice Principal of Dai Nam University at the Workshop on Current situation and solutions to improve the quality of lectures of the Faculty of Communication.
Attending the Workshop on Current Situation and Solutions to Improve Lecture Quality of the Faculty of Communication were representatives of the Board of Directors, leaders of the Training Department, the Examination and Quality Assurance Department, and leaders, staff and lecturers in the faculty.

In his opening speech at the workshop, Dr. Tran Bao Khanh - Head of the Faculty of Communication affirmed the importance of applying active and modern teaching methods; classroom management skills; methods of testing and evaluating students... especially the ability of lecturers to apply new technologies in teaching hours.
"This is not only an opportunity for lecturers in the department to share teaching experiences but also to help provide solutions to enhance active teaching methods, optimize teaching hours, and help maximize students' learning, research and creativity..." said Dr. Tran Bao Khanh.

Regarding theoretical teaching experience, lecturers shared many effective methods and necessary procedures for an effective lesson such as: taking attendance, checking carefully whether the equipment is complete before starting the lesson; starting a new lesson with a real-life situation to create curiosity and excitement for students first; always asking questions (probing deep issues) to help students deeply understand the lesson right in class; after each content, students will be prompted to draw their own key words of a problem; to help students remember the nature and characteristics of the problem; giving homework to students to help students remember the lesson longer. Students are required to grasp the theory and lessons right in class, and to learn to the point, to be sure.

In addition to methods to ensure effective teaching of content, the format of the lecture is also a key factor in determining whether the lecture is attractive and engaging or not. Lecturers' presentations are highly appreciated when using Prezi software, infographics and interesting presentation design software to bring excitement to the audience. That is the deepest proof that the lectures in the real classroom are designed vividly, multi-platform, bringing the appeal of the lecturers of the Faculty of Communication. "One of the highlights of the presentations of the Faculty of Communication that many faculties need to learn", said Dr. Viet Anh, Vice Principal of the School.

Sharing their experiences in teaching practice, lecturers all agreed that practice is not only applied in skills subjects, but also thoroughly applied in theoretical subjects that many students consider dry and academic. In most subjects, students can have practical experience right at the newspaper office, writing press releases, writing PR articles, writing for newspapers, radio stations, television stations, media companies, media departments of businesses, government and non-government organizations.
Dr. Nguyen Minh Tuan applies many practical activities to the lesson.
Also in the content of improving practical activities in teaching. The Faculty of Communication encourages lecturers to directly participate in practical communication activities: working as reporters, editors, communication specialists, MCs, etc. in press agencies, businesses, media companies, entertainment activities, etc. Lecturers are not only teachers but also experts. Teaching activities are not only teachers teaching students but also experts sharing experiences with future colleagues. That requires all lecturers to be more proactive and dynamic, in order to bring students attractive experiences.

From sharing practical teaching experiences, lecturers of the Faculty of Communication have made suggestions to improve the effectiveness of teaching activities such as: the school provides training on new software, new methods... to support lecturers in preparing lessons as well as teaching; Building a self-study process and having specific instructions to help students develop the habit of self-study, self-research,... in which the proposal to promote, improve and regularly update the school's electronic library is a highly appreciated proposal in current online teaching activities.

The workshop “Current situation and solutions to improve the quality of lectures” at the Faculty level of the Faculty of Communication left a strong impression on the school’s Board of Directors, lecturers of the Faculty of Communication and guests. With many active teaching methods and modern tools, the opinions of the participants are valuable lessons for each lecturer of the Faculty of Communication, and at the same time, they are also valuable contributions to the general teaching activities of the school.
