Human resource trends in IT industry

According to a report by GlobeNewswire (2021), the global HR Tech market is growing rapidly. The report titled “HR Tech Market 2021-2028” indicates that the market size was USD 22.89 billion in 2020; USD 24.04 billion in 2021 and increased to USD 35.68 billion by 2028 at a CAGR of 5.8% during the forecast period.

Job opportunities in the IT industry are wide open.

Of which, the IT and Telecommunication sector accounts for 23.3% of the human resources market share, focusing on the software and IT services industry. The branches are further classified into IT in telecommunications, e-government, IT applications in retail, healthcare, manufacturing and other fields. Of these, the IT and Telecommunication sector generated 23.3% in 2020 in terms of global technology human resources (HR) market share.

This growth is due to changing recruitment strategies and high demand for skilled workforce in various companies.

IT human resource needs in Vietnam

According to TopDev's 2021 market report, IT human resources in Vietnam are in short supply and cannot be filled in the near future. The national market needs about 450,000 people for this field, but the current number of programmers is estimated at 430,000, 20,000 positions short of demand.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, each year, the IT industry needs about 80,000 - 100,000 workers. Meanwhile, the number of IT graduates is only 30,000 people/year. The demand for recruitment in the IT industry from 2017 to now is at its highest level in history. Currently, there are nearly 15,000 jobs in this field being recruited and this number will continue to increase. By 2021, our country will need about 1.2 million IT workers, the number is still short of about 400,000 people and it is estimated that by 2022 it will be 500,000 people.
