With the policy of training closely linked to practice, theory combined with practice, the Faculty of Business Administration, Dai Nam University has introduced the subject "Business Games" into the curriculum for students right from the first semester. Business Games is a new subject, highly practical, giving students an overview of business administration; components of a business, production and business processes of a business... In addition, the subject helps students apply presentation and negotiation skills in business to solve specific situations; apply knowledge to carry out real business projects.

Business Games is a new subject, highly practical, giving students an overview of business administration; components of a business, production and business processes of a business... In addition, the subject helps students apply presentation and negotiation skills in business to solve specific situations; apply knowledge to carry out real business projects.
To study this subject well, students need to be proactive in "virtual business" activities in class. Groups will have to proactively come up with product models, design and complete the products themselves, and then offer them to the market with the goal of maximizing profits. If virtual business activities in class take "profit" as the most important evaluation criterion, real business activities do not place that criterion. The criteria that are highly appreciated in this section are the seriousness in developing a business plan, the spirit of teamwork, the way to solve difficulties, and especially the lessons learned after the entire business process.
Right from the first semester of the first year, students have studied the subject "Business Games". The new subject, new learning method with most of the practice hours has brought the first year students excitement when studying, immediately adapting to the university learning style. Like many students of course 10, Bui Minh Hoa - class QTKD 10-01 was extremely excited with the novelty of the subject "Business Games". The subject has brought Hoa and his classmates practical experiences through virtual business in class, and real business in the market.
Below is Bui Minh Hoa's sharing after finishing the course "Business Games":
“When I first enrolled at Dai Nam University, one of the first subjects I learned was “Business Games”. For a first-year student like me, the name of the subject was very new and aroused a lot of curiosity. Therefore, I asked my friends who studied at other schools about that subject. But their answer was “never studied it”....
As soon as I started the course, I felt the novelty of the subject. The “business game” course not only gave me a new perspective on business but also helped me understand that real business is much more difficult than I had initially imagined. In the first class, the teachers let us choose groups, then set up “companies” and assigned specific positions such as Director, Sales Manager, Treasurer, Chief Accountant, etc. After disseminating the content of the course, the teachers gave each “company” an initial business capital of $100 (virtual money).
The new thing about doing business in class is that I get to experience: signing contracts, negotiating prices, advertising products. Besides, we always have to think about how to have eye-catching products that are suitable for the market and sell at a higher price than competitors . After four virtual business periods in class with increasing difficulty, risks always come, I have understood what business is, and learned many useful lessons. Also through this, we have learned more about basic concepts in business such as revenue, costs, profits, break-even points... After each business period, we have to make a business results report to know how our financial situation is. And most of all, the teachers let the groups share their lessons of success as well as failure. From there, our company has also learned a lot from other companies.

As much as virtual business in class is fun and interesting, real business is more difficult and arduous. The teacher's requirement is that each group must contribute a capital of no more than one million VND. Create a detailed business plan and defend that plan in front of the whole class. After listening to the teachers' comments, we officially entered the real business.
After the whole group agreed, we decided to start a business of fashion eyewear. We made a business plan together. Starting with questions like “where to import goods, how to choose models, where to sell goods, what is the selling price?”. Those were all very difficult questions for us. With the determination and solidarity of the group members, we overcame our hesitation and were all responsible for the assigned work. We surveyed the market and decided to import goods from Dong Xuan market. Then the group directly offered their products in areas such as Phung Khoang market, the university gate along Nguyen Trai street... When customers ordered via Facebook, we delivered the goods to the customers, the farthest place was Thanh Oai district, about 10km away. With those efforts, our company was honored to receive the award for the best practical business group voted by other companies. But the biggest reward for me is probably the closer affection of the group members. We overcame difficulties together and always helped each other. I personally feel I am more sociable and bold after finishing this course.

At the end of the course, my group members and the whole class have accumulated a lot of business management knowledge as well as practical business experience. Perhaps these are experiences that not every university can bring to students.
Finally, I would like to sincerely thank the school, especially the teachers of the subject, for giving us an extremely interesting and useful subject. Personally, I will try to study well, practice skills, and enrich knowledge to become a businessman in the future."
