Currently, many universities in Vietnam, including Dai Nam University, apply TOEIC certificates as output standards. In addition, TOEIC certificates are also considered as a standard for recruiting candidates for businesses. So how to get high results in TOEIC, please refer to the following steps:

Planning and setting goals are essential when you are preparing for the TOEIC test. Make a detailed plan and set a goal that you think you can achieve. Note that the goal you set must be realistic, avoid setting goals that are too high, not being able to achieve them can make you disappointed.
Step 2: Carefully study the TOEIC test structure
Before you start studying for the exam, make sure you understand the content of each section. The test consists of 200 multiple-choice questions corresponding to 2 parts: Listening and Reading. Specifically, each test section is shown in the following table:

Make a detailed schedule for TOEIC review. “Practice makes perfect”, so it is best to spend at least 1 hour a day to study. You should focus on all the sections, not just one section. Spend more time on the difficult section.

A small vocabulary is one of the reasons why you do not get a high score in the TOEIC test. Therefore, equipping yourself with a rich vocabulary in many different fields is very necessary. The best advice is to have a small notebook and write down all the new words in it. You should not learn new words from a list of words because you can only remember vocabulary best and easiest based on the context of the word. Therefore, for each word you encounter during the learning process, write it down and learn it in a sentence. After each week of studying, you should write a short paragraph and try to use as many words as possible that you have learned in a week.

“Learning goes hand in hand with practice”, so when preparing for the TOEIC test, in addition to learning vocabulary and grammar, you must also practice right after learning the theory. Practicing with many TOEIC test questions will help you evaluate your ability and from there, draw out your weak points to have effective methods to overcome them.
