DNU Valedictorian: Journey from honor in Hanoi to conquering a Master's degree in Korea

“I am extremely proud to continue the tradition of 9 consecutive years of Dai Nam University having a Valedictorian honored by Hanoi City,” shared Duong Thuy Linh - Valedictorian of Dai Nam University (DNU) in 2024, currently studying for a Master's degree in Korea.

During her 4 years at DNU, Thuy Linh has achieved many outstanding achievements:

- Graduated with Excellent grade with GPA 9.57/10; training score achieved Excellent grade.

- Thesis topic "Comparative study of idioms about "face" in Korean and Vietnamese (focusing on idioms related to 'eyes', 'nose', 'mouth')" achieved 9.5/10 points.

- 8 consecutive terms of winning the Excellent Scholarship.

- 100% scholarship for 6-month student exchange program at Mokpo National University (Korea).

- 100% first semester master's scholarship at Mokpo National University.

- Second prize in the Korean speaking contest organized by the Department of Korean Language and Culture, DNU.

- Encouragement Prize for Scientific Research at Faculty level.

- Encouragement Prize in the Faculty level art competition during Korean Cultural Week.

- Third Prize in the art performance competition at the "Hangeul Festival" in 2022 organized by Korean Studies training units.

- Certificate of Merit for "Outstanding achievements in Youth Union activities and youth movements in the 2022-2023 school year."

- Excellently completed the tasks of the Executive Committee of the Youth Union of the Faculty of Korean Language and Culture.

Thuy Linh expressed her gratitude for the learning environment and dedication of DNU teachers. It was the teachers who inspired the 10X to pursue the goal of becoming a Korean language lecturer.

Currently, Thuy Linh is studying for a master's degree in Korean Language Education at Mokpo National University. Her goal is to complete the program with excellent results and become a Korean language teacher with extensive knowledge and good teaching skills.

In the long term, 10X plans to study more about the Chinese language to expand understanding of Asian culture and language, inspiring people to learn foreign languages.

Thuy Linh aspires to become a teacher who lives her life to the fullest, pursuing the ideal of education with a pure heart and tolerance.

The young girl's motto in life is: "Life is fair to those who try hard and are not afraid to fight." Therefore, Thuy Linh always considers every difficulty as an opportunity to learn and develop herself.

10X advises young people to live their student life to the fullest, constantly try and participate in movement activities.

“Set clear goals and make detailed plans for each stage. Learning with passion and perseverance is the key to success,” Thuy Linh emphasized.
