Nowadays, the sense of personal responsibility of students has faded after many generations, that is why the spirit of "living responsibly" is very necessary for all of us at this time. Starting from the 2016-2017 school year, Dai Nam University has included the topic of "living responsibly" as one of the Life Skills teaching contents in the "Success Map" course for all students of the school, in order to help students practice their own qualities and improve their life skills, inherent sense of responsibility to firmly succeed in life later.

The sense of responsibility is a measure of your own worth, courage and strength. It is the act of taking responsibility that will help you improve and perfect yourself and achieve success in life. If you want to succeed, first learn to take responsibility for yourself, do not make excuses and do not blame. These complaints have their reasons. But I think they cannot be used to justify recklessness or even debauchery.

The Success Map course helps Dai Nam students develop their own abilities and have a sense of responsibility for themselves, their families and society.

Responsibility is the obligation of a person to ensure that a result occurs in the future accurately and promptly (whether consciously or unconsciously). Failure to fulfill the responsibility is a mistake, and the person must bear the negative consequences that arise from his mistake. Responsibility includes two elements:

The first factor is daring to think and daring to do: Accepting tasks and taking responsibility for your tasks, and at the same time trying your best to complete the tasks, not avoiding or pushing the tasks to circumstances or other people.

The second factor is to dare to take responsibility: Admit mistakes and be willing to bear the bad consequences that come to you when you fail to complete your tasks, without blaming the situation or other people.

A responsible person is someone who dares to think, dares to do, and dares to take responsibility. This is the model of the owners and leaders in the collective.

Nowadays, many students are proud of their “international-class” English ability, searching for information on the internet and using its utilities is just a “small matter”. The “attached” items in the backpacks of young people are stylish smart phones, trendy laptops that have just appeared on the market… Students should spend a few hours each week just sitting in a completely quiet place or with instrumental music, soft, gentle - calm down and think deeply about the following: what must you do to be worthy of the things life gives you every day, what do you do to be worthy of being born and occupying a fixed area on this earth?

There are too many choices in life. Therefore, students are easily tempted, distracted and distracted. They spend a lot of time doing things that are not beneficial for the future, moving away from the goals and dreams they have set for their own lives, so that each passing day is meaningless, and they rush to find joy.

So what is "living responsibly"? Living responsibly means fulfilling one's obligations to society, school, family and oneself... daring to do, daring to take responsibility for one's actions. The duty is to be a student, the future elite of the country. We must be responsible to ourselves, responsible to our family, those around us and responsible in the learning process.

Being responsible for yourself means focusing on your own desires and needs while finding solutions to your own problems. The most taboo thing for each individual is to isolate and separate yourself from society. You must let yourself participate in collective activities, experience good and new things to draw life experiences for yourself. Family is the foundation for building each person's personality, a child is born and grows up in a bad or good direction partly due to the influence of the family. Therefore, for the family, we must build for ourselves a model of obedience, politeness and love for other members. "Respect for elders and give way to juniors" is a special standard that needs to be focused on in family relationships. On the other hand, we also need to know how to share and love. We will never be disadvantaged if we give away our own love.

And the problem, as well as the main responsibility of each student is to study. In studying, we need to pay attention and know how to explore and discover. Knowledge is not only contained in the pages of books but also extends to the vast world. The task of each student is to use books to lead us to that world of knowledge, to search and collect valuable documents for ourselves, to cultivate practical experience to help us in the learning process. On the other hand, the way of studying and the ethics in studying are equally important. It is not good to cram, but studying must go hand in hand with practice, applying the knowledge learned into life to make life more meaningful, that is called studying. And avoid rote learning, studying perfunctorily, because those are the ways of studying that kill your knowledge. Besides, we must know how to adjust our behavior in studying, keeping our mind upright and honest is a good thing. Suppose in a test, we cheat, then that is irresponsible to ourselves. This is not to exaggerate the problem, but think about it, if we do it once, there will probably be a second or third time, what will our future be like if we continue to get used to cheating and relying on others? What will happen to the fate of the country if it falls into the hands of such a person?

Society is gradually developing day by day, and students are the ones who directly help humanity develop. Therefore, students must be responsible for the place where we exist. Just your small actions such as not littering, not smoking, drinking alcohol, maintaining public hygiene... are also contributions to society. Nowadays, every summer we see the green shirts of young volunteers, those people shoulder their own responsibilities, go to remote areas to help lonely elderly people, repair bridges, re-roof thatched roofs... all of those acts clearly show their contributions to society, wishing for a better country.

Living responsibly is also shown through very small actions in life, daily habits that we gradually forget because they are too familiar. For example, being on time and keeping appointments is also living responsibly. That is responsibility for one's own work, responsibility for reputation and responsibility for the other person. Just bending down to pick up a piece of litter is to join hands in creating a "me" responsible for the environment and the people around us.

What I always want to tell students is that your life is determined by the way you live. The result you get in the end is always the sum of the results of the times you have lived fully and responsibly for yourself. Therefore, if you choose to be resentful towards life, let yourself go, and see that as the only way to react to the misfortunes in this life, then look back! That decision is yours, no one can influence it, and all the results you receive are yours alone to bear! When you turn 18, in addition to your youth and innate intelligence, you are also an adult. At this time, you have the right to consider and think more about your mission. Only when you discover the true reason for your existence in this world, then you will be worthy of being considered the hope of your family, society and country.
