With the message "each book is a window to the world" and a series of diverse and meaningful experiential activities, Dai Nam University Book Festival 2023 was unexpectedly successful, attracting thousands of staff, lecturers and students from early morning to late afternoon.

The program aims to respond to Vietnam Book Day April 21, World Book and Copyright Day April 23; to revive the reading movement, develop reading culture in the community in general and the student community of Dai Nam University in particular.

Dai Nam Book Festival 2023 is organized professionally and grandly.

Speaking at the Festival, Ms. Cao Thi Hoa - Vice Principal said: "In addition to training professional knowledge, Dai Nam University always strives to guide students to read books, to receive the endless source of knowledge in books - the great teacher of humanity. Because without reading books, students will not have knowledge, cannot do work and that means they cannot have a good life. In addition, reading books will make people more humane, more holy to live together better, love each other more, especially avoid school violence"

Ms. Cao Thi Hoa emphasized: It is necessary to build a foundation and develop a reading culture. It is better to do it late than never to do it.

Unexpectedly, the book fair was "packed" with people from early morning to late afternoon.

"Dai Nam Book Festival 2023" has the participation of large and reputable publishing units and brands in Hanoi, such as: Tien Phong Books, Bizbooks, Quang Van Books... Thousands of good books with discounts up to 50% exclusively for teachers and students of Dai Nam University.

In just a few hours, many books were sold out. Students were especially interested in specialized books, self-development books, inspirational books, etc. Representatives of bookstores said they would continue to restock these books for 3 days, from April 19 to April 21.

The bookstores were packed with readers.

Mr. Do Dinh Toan - representative of Quang Van Publishing and Education Joint Stock Company (Quang Van Books) shared: "We have never seen such a successful book festival at a university. The book stalls are always packed with readers and buyers. This shows that the reading culture and learning spirit of teachers and students of Dai Nam University are wonderful."

Teachers and students can choose books that are suitable for their interests, work and field of study.

Nguyen Hai Anh – Pharmacy student 16.02: “This is the first time I have experienced the Book Festival atmosphere at school. There are many interesting and useful book genres for students. Hopefully in the future, the school will continue to organize the Book Festival to create motivation and spread the reading culture more deeply in the DNU student community…”

Students are excited to learn about the history and meaning of the name Dai Nam University with historian Le Van Lan.

Historian Le Van Lan brought to students of Dai Nam University a new and interesting perspective on history; new methods of reading history, effective ways to choose books... In particular, Professor Le Van Lan brought to the Dai Nam University Book Festival the book Dai Viet Su Ky Toan Thu that he has been with for many years along with a map of Vietnam. Through that, there are erudite and interesting sharings about a glorious period in the country's history, decoding the meaning of the national name Dai Nam and the meaning of the name Dai Nam University.

Professor Le Van Lan shared interesting things about history with students of Dai Nam University.

At the program, historian Le Van Lan signed and donated 3 copies of Dai Viet Su Ky Toan Thu to Dai Nam University. These books will be transferred to the Library and students can borrow them to read at any time.

Effective reading methods in the digital age

One of the activities that young people are especially looking forward to is the talk show “Reading in the digital age” by speaker Nguyen Quoc Vuong. The speaker’s closeness, enthusiasm, and deep sharing have helped young people realize the importance of reading; how to choose books that are suitable for themselves.

Speaker Nguyen Quoc Vuong shares the secret to choosing effective books for students of Dai Nam University.

The speaker also gave effective reading methods for young people, which are: Read and imagine; Read and ponder; Read and write; Read and translate; Read and speak; Read and practice creativity; Read and improve yourself. Encourage young people to wake up early, create a habit of reading a few minutes every day; carry books with you to read in your free time; create a bookshelf and a private reading space, and place books in a place close to daily activities.

The talk show by speaker Nguyen Quoc Vuong once again added motivation and reading spirit to teachers and students of Dai Nam University; determined to spread reading culture to friends, relatives and the whole society.

Connecting book lovers with the "Books and Action" Club

The birth of the "Books and Action" Club marked a great turning point in forming and promoting the reading spirit of Dai Nam University students.

The "Books and Action" Club officially launched.

The Club's orientation is: Connecting members who love books, spreading the spirit of learning knowledge and sharing necessary skills for studying, life and Union - Association work; arousing interest and need for reading and building a reading movement among students; promoting the values of reading, helping to improve knowledge and develop skills.

Contribute books – exchange books: Don't let books "die" on the shelves!

In addition to reading and buying books, young people are also excited about the activity of exchanging books for books and exchanging books for gifts. The message of this activity is “Don’t let books “die” on the shelves, let books continue to carry out the mission of spreading knowledge to everyone”.

In addition, young people also showed off their book summarization and storytelling skills with the book review minigame. Many attractive gifts were sent to young people with impressive and unique reviews.

Responding to the "Dai Nam Book Festival 2023", contributing to the diversity of Dai Nam University's bookshelf, increasing the choices for young people, Dr. Nguyen Thi Vinh Hue - Head of the Faculty of Pharmacy donated 20 books "Toat yeu Dong Duoc dien ca" written by herself.
