According to regulations, to graduate from high school, candidates must take three compulsory subjects: math, literature, foreign language and one elective subject. Thus, to graduate , candidates must take four subjects, in which the elective subject for graduation must be registered immediately when submitting the application , not when the results are available. Candidates choose the subject with the highest score for consideration.
To apply for university or college, candidates can choose to take other subjects. In theory, they can take all eight subjects organized by the Ministry of Education and Training. However, very few candidates register to take all eight subjects. If they register for many subjects, they can choose to take the most necessary subjects, it is not necessary to take all of them.
In your case, if you register for an extra subject, you can skip this subject if it is not an elective subject for high school graduation. And so, even if you do not take the exam or get a failing score, it will not affect your high school graduation results.
