Why do DNU students receive job orientation and "assessment" from businesses from the second year?

Training with application orientation – fostering entrepreneurial thinking and spirit; designing training programs according to the requirements (orders) of businesses and society; businesses orienting and “assessing” students right from the second year of university is the policy of Dai Nam University. Accordingly, 100% of students are supported with employment after graduation, businesses are assured of high-quality human resources and continue to “order” training with the University.
Students "struggle" because of lack of direction and skills
According to statistics from the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the number of university and college graduates who have jobs in their field of study is only 56%, related to their field of study is 25% and unrelated to their field of study is 19%. Every year, more than 400,000 bachelors graduate, but the number of unemployed workers is nearly 200,000. In particular, the rate of unemployed trained workers is 3% higher than the general unemployment rate of the whole country.
According to experts, the causes of this "alarming" situation are: Inadequacies in school career guidance; learners' misconceptions about professions, lack of information about the labor market and employer requirements.
Without career orientation and not understanding the needs of the market and businesses, students face the risk of unemployment (Illustration photo).
This makes it difficult for learners to determine their learning goals, and they lack the awareness to improve and practice their knowledge and skills. This leads to the situation of “studying for fun”, “graduating first”, CVs being sent everywhere but not receiving any feedback, unemployment, and constant job-hopping…
Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Van Hong - Principal of Dai Nam University said: "Career guidance and orientation for students is a top concern of society. Schools and businesses must "join hands" to orient students' careers right from the first steps and throughout the entire training process".
“If students are left to swim on their own, they will only struggle and sink. If schools and businesses support and guide them, they will certainly swim far and reach safety,” Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Van Hong affirmed.
Dai Nam and businesses "join hands" to orient students
In order to achieve the goal of 100% of students receiving employment support and having jobs in their majors after graduation, Dai Nam University has continuously improved and enhanced the quality of training to ensure output standards for students; equipped students with soft skills, positive attitudes, discipline and lifelong health training habits through soft skills training programs, national defense and security education and different physical training programs...
After 16 years, Dai Nam University has 32,000 students; 20,000 students have graduated and have a good life and are good citizens.
The reason Dai Nam University developed the “Student Employment and Entrepreneurship” Center is to support employment for 100% of students. Expand strategic cooperation with large domestic and foreign enterprises and corporations to bring students to practice, intern, and participate in recruitment. At the same time, invite enterprises to the school to directly train, supplement knowledge and skills (skills of self-understanding, CV writing skills, interview answering skills, planning skills...), career orientation and “assessment” of labor resources before they enter the labor market.
Dai Nam University is the first non-public university to sign a comprehensive agreement with LG Group, expanding practice and internship opportunities for students.
Youth Plus Education Technology JSC cooperates with Dai Nam University in skills training and student recruitment.
Pharmacy students study and gain practical experience at FPT Long Chau company.
LG Display Vietnam Hai Phong Company commits to accepting students from the Korean Language and Culture Department for internships with salaries up to 12 million VND/month.
Students are excited about the training course "Supplementing knowledge and skills to get a job immediately".
Practice CV writing skills with experts.
Accordingly, the School and the Center regularly organize talk shows and career seminars with the participation of business representatives; invite experts to directly train and fill the "gap" in knowledge and practical skills for students; organize Job Fairs with the participation of hundreds of businesses with many high-income job positions...
Business Administration students orient their careers with businesses right at school.
Students find jobs, businesses recruit high-quality human resources right at DNU Job Fair 2023.
In particular, students are trained in CV writing and interview skills right from their second year of university through the Advanced Soft Skills training program of the Faculty of Soft Skills Training and Development. Here, students are registered for the exam in the form of a direct interview with a business representative. Specifically, the Faculty and the School coordinate to connect businesses to participate in the Job Fair program; students will choose employers that match their major and interests to submit their CVs and participate in 1:1 interviews.
Enterprises directly "weigh and measure" and evaluate students' skills; at the same time, select suitable candidates.
Dai Nam University students are highly appreciated by businesses for their knowledge and skills.
Students “benefit” from the school's practical orientation
The right orientation of the School and businesses through practical activities helps students "benefit" in many aspects:
First, better understand the profession and labor market needs through practical sharing from business representatives.
Second, grasp the recruitment requirements of the business, thereby determining goals and developing a learning roadmap; strive to cultivate appropriate knowledge and skills.
Third, shorten the gap between students and businesses. Instead of groping around and trying to approach businesses to find job opportunities, students can directly talk and be interviewed by businesses right in the classroom; proactively choose jobs that match their abilities, strengths, and training majors.
The school connects with businesses, so students don't have to fumble around looking for job opportunities.
Fourth, through the Soft Skills training program, students know how to design an impressive, scientific, and informative CV; at the same time, they are equipped with the skills to answer fluently, accurately, affirm strengths, personality, etc. Confidently "conquer" employers, say no to unemployment after graduation just because of lacking and weak basic skills.
DNUERS confidently demonstrate their abilities and "score points" with employers while still in school.
Fifth, find a job that matches your major and has an attractive income right from your second year of university.
Nguyen Van Vu – class CKO 15.02 shared: “I feel lucky to study in a modern, up-to-date and student-oriented learning environment like Dai Nam University. The dedicated guidance and orientation of the teachers help me have a more intuitive view of my career. I believe that my interview skills and impressive CV will help me “conquer” the position of quality technician at Jinko Solar Vietnam Industrial Co., Ltd.”
A representative of Hoa Loi Dat Vietnam Garment Company Limited said: “We are especially impressed with the second-year students of Dai Nam University. Not only do they have good professional qualifications, but their skills and work attitudes are also very professional. Currently, they are only interns and part-time employees, but in the future, they will certainly become the core team of the company.”
