Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Ai Viet was born in 1955. He is known as the first Vietnamese person to be honored by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences as one of the world's advanced scientists. Few people know that Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Ai Viet is the one who "paved the way" for the country's IT industry, directly participating in negotiating the famous "billion dollar" deal with Microsoft, "bargaining" with Bill Gates about buying the copyright of Microsoft Office software, helping Vietnam eliminate the "free software use" case.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ai Viet used to be a chief software engineer specializing in information security at corporations such as AT&T and Siemens - leading telecommunications companies in the US. In 2003, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ai Viet gave up a high salary in the US to return to work in Vietnam. In Vietnam, he held the position of Deputy Chief of Office of the National Steering Committee on Information Technology, Deputy Director of the Institute of Strategy of the Ministry of Information and Communications, and then Director of the Institute of Information Technology of Hanoi National University.

Having been very successful in the field of Mathematics - Physics with international projects and successes in the US, Europe, ... Nguyen Ai Viet returned to Vietnam with the desire to contribute his efforts to serve the country. He is also a person pursuing spelling checking and automatic translation software "made in Vietnam" with the desire to compete with the "giant" Google Translate. He is the head of the national high-tech development project "Developing multilingual translation technology English - Chinese - Vietnamese". He is a technology consultant and the author of the patent "Internet access and safe remote work" in another national project on network security.

What role does Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Ai Viet play at Dai Nam University?

In 2021, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Ai Viet was invited to be the Head of the Faculty of Information Technology at Dai Nam University. Here, he participated in the management of the Faculty of Information Technology, especially introducing a new training program to teach nearly 1,000 students studying Information Technology at the University. The new training program that Mr. Viet applied to Dai Nam's IT industry is oriented towards technology application; meeting the digital transformation requirements of businesses; helping students meet output standards through each school year until they graduate with high competency standards; in line with the social needs of the IT industry.

Starting his mission at the Faculty of Information Technology of Dai Nam University, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Ai Viet seems to have once again “started a business” by participating in the career of training the young generation in a dynamic non-public university environment like Dai Nam University. He has directly ignited the fire of aspiration to study information technology for students in the Faculty.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ai Viet has repeatedly affirmed: “After completing the first year, students of the IT major at Dai Nam University will have the necessary experience and understanding of computer systems to be able to provide technical support for most of the basic requirements of businesses. After the second year, students will be proficient in programming according to design requirements. After the third year, students will be able to design applications according to customer requirements. In the fourth year, upon graduation, students will know how to integrate complex systems to meet the requirements of digital transformation and the 4.0 industrial revolution.
