What do students get when the training time of 02 "hot" majors of the Faculty of Communication is shortened to 03 years?

Shortening training time is a development trend of higher education in the new period, which has been applied by many universities. Keeping up with that trend, from the 2023-2024 school year, Dai Nam University will shorten the training program (0.5 - 1 year) for majors. Two hot majors, Public Relations and Multimedia Communications, also have their training time shortened to 3 years; creating conditions for students to enter the labor market early and "securely" at businesses, press and media agencies.

Shorten but still ensure training quality

For the old training program, the total amount of knowledge for the Public Relations major was 138 credits, and the Multimedia Communications major was 141 credits. After adjusting according to the plan to shorten the training period to 3 years, the total amount of knowledge for the whole course was also reduced to 124 credits for both majors with the goal of reducing theoretical subjects and increasing practical subjects.

For the Public Relations major, 15 courses were removed; 14 courses had their names changed and adjusted; 14 courses had their credits adjusted. Some theoretical courses belonging to the major's foundation with equivalent knowledge foundation were integrated. Some courses in the specialized knowledge section were simplified because they were not suitable for current Public Relations activities in Vietnam.

For the Multimedia Communication major, 11 courses are removed. The goal is to shorten the training time and the duration of the training program, focus on teaching core content and increase practice for students. Add 3 more courses to suit the practical requirements of the Multimedia Communication major and the development goals of the School.

Adjust the course names for 6 subjects to ensure consistency with the course content and Vietnamese standards. There are 4 courses that have been adjusted to increase the number of credits in the direction of integrating some content suitable for output standards and increasing application and practice for learners.

The training program is designed to include 9 semesters corresponding to 3 years, including 124 credits. Of which, the official study time is 3 years, the maximum study time is 6 years. Each academic year is divided into 3 main semesters, each semester has 14 weeks of actual study and 3 weeks of exams.
