Warm Winter Love Season 8: Bringing Spring from Dai Nam to Thai Nguyen

“Warm Winter Love” is an annual program of Dai Nam University every Tet holiday to express the spirit of mutual love, helping each other, sharing difficulties with those in need. During the last days of the cold year, on January 14-15, 2023, the Dai Nam University Student Volunteer Team brought “Warm Winter Love” to students of Tam Hop Primary and Kindergarten, Thai Nguyen province.

The program “Warm Winter with Love” launched by the Student Volunteer Team in early October 2014 is one of many voluntary activities of the teachers and students of Dai Nam School. Through donations and support from cash to clothes, shoes, blankets, books, school supplies, etc., the School wishes to help and share with families in difficult circumstances, poor children who overcome difficulties, bringing a warm and loving winter; at the same time, educating and spreading humanity and the spirit of mutual love to students.

This year, the Youth Union of Dai Nam University and the Volunteer Student Team coordinated with the local authorities of Tam Hop hamlet, Lam Vy commune, Dinh Hoa district, Thai Nguyen province to present “Warm Winter” gifts. Accordingly, 75 gifts including coats, socks, thermos bottles, books, candies, nearly 100 banh chung cakes made by DNU teachers and students... were given to students of Tam Hop Primary and Kindergarten; 05 New Year's Eve meals were given to the most disadvantaged households in the village.

The gifts were given to the children.

Although the gifts are small, they contain the love and sharing of teachers and students of Dai Nam University. Hopefully, the shirts, socks, and thermos bottles will help the students feel warmer in the cold winter, as the Year of the Cat is approaching; from today's squared pages, the students will write down their dreams, ambitions, and future successes.

Mr. Bui Duc Anh - Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of Dai Nam University shared: "It is true that you have to go, come and experience to understand the cold, the hardships and difficulties of the people and students here. This trip not only brings beautiful memories but also raises awareness and responsibility for the community for the students".

A gift given, a thousand loves received.

After giving gifts to the students, the Volunteer Team organized games and interacted with them. The smiles, excitement, and joy of the students are one of the warmest things of this spring for teachers and students of Dai Nam University.

Mai Do Nhu Quynh – class TTĐPT 16.01 expressed: “After the trip, I feel more enthusiastic and mature. I will always keep these wonderful things in my heart and hope to continue to “burn” myself out in meaningful youth trips like this”.

“Winter of Love” season 8 has ended, but the memories and valuable lessons are what remain in the minds of each volunteer of Dai Nam University. Thereby, promoting the spirit of volunteering and contributing to the community in accordance with the spirit of “wherever there is a need, there is youth – wherever there is difficulty, there is youth”, lighting the fire of enthusiasm of DNU youth.
