Vietnam Nursing Industry – 32 years of a journey

Nursing is a noble profession whose main mission is to take care of people's health. In the world, May 12 is known as International Nurses Day. In Vietnam, October 26 is a meaningful day to honor dedicated, caring nurses who work day and night to care for patients.
How was Vietnam Nursing Day born?
The Vietnamese Nursing industry is closely linked to the country's development history, during the resistance war against France and the United States. During this period, Vietnamese Nursing was not considered a separate industry. However, Nursing began to receive attention when it made many great contributions, saving the lives of many wounded soldiers in difficult conditions.
In 1986, the Ho Chi Minh City Nursing Association was established. In 1989, the Hanoi Nursing Association and the Quang Ninh Nursing Association were established. Subsequently, nursing associations in other provinces were established, prompting the establishment of the Vietnam Nursing Association.
On October 26, 1990, the Government passed Decision No. 375 to establish the Vietnam Nursing Association and later changed its name to the Vietnam Nursing Association. Accordingly, Vietnam Nursing Day is October 26 every year.
DNU Nursing Faculty is increasingly asserting its position.
