University autonomy is an inevitable trend

Deputy Minister Bui Van Ga said that, similar to the proposal of the VED group, the Government and the Ministry of Education and Training have both recognized that the issue of granting autonomy to schools is an inevitable trend that creates momentum for the development of university education. Mr. Ga said the Ministry also asked the group to continue to help the Ministry research a number of issues that the university education system is facing, especially the issue of resources for development.

Speaking to Thanh Nien , Professor Ngo Bao Chau commented that the Ministry of Education and Training has been very receptive to the VED group's recommendations on university education. "But the recommendations are not entirely directed at the Ministry of Education and Training. Reforming university education requires the participation of many different parties, including universities and society, and not just the efforts of the Ministry of Education and Training alone," Professor Ngo Bao Chau shared.
