Tourism and Travel Services Management is one of the leading majors in terms of human resource demand and high salary. In particular, the Tourism training model integrating theory and practice according to international standards is increasingly attracting candidates.

Tourism continues to be in the top 12 industries with high demand for human resources

According to the announcement of the Ministry of Education and Training, 12 university-level training majors with high human resource demand belong to 2 fields: Computer - information technology; tourism - hotel - sports and personal services.

Tourism and Travel Services Management is one of the leading majors in terms of the number of applications in each admission season at DNU.

In the field of tourism, hotels, sports and personal services, there are 4 industries included in the list, including: Tourism, Tourism and Travel Services Management, Hotel Management, Restaurant and Food Service Management.

Being among the industries most heavily affected by the pandemic, Tourism, Hotel and Service is still the industry group that attracts a large number of applicants during the admission seasons.

In 2021, the number of candidates registering for NV1/total quota for the Tourism industry group was more than 201%; ranked 4th out of 15 industries with the most NV registrations from candidates.

According to statistics from the General Department of Tourism, each year the tourism industry needs about 40,000 - 50,000 workers. However, the number of students and trainees in this major is only meeting the demand of 12,000 - 15,000 people/year. And only about 12% have a college degree or higher.

In particular, under the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, about 50% of the tourism industry's workforce was cut or restructured. Most of the laid-off workers did not want to return to the job they were fired from, leading to a serious shortage of human resources after the epidemic.

According to experts, the "miraculous" recovery of tourism after the pandemic globally is the "golden key" that opens career doors for young people in a market that is saturated with human resources in many other industries.
