Things to prepare for internship for final year students majoring in Accounting

As you know, the internship outside the enterprise is the time when you participate in the labor market. Specifically, for students majoring in Accounting, you will practice as an accountant at a company/enterprise/organization, etc. This is the time when you apply the knowledge you have learned in 4 years of university into practice and it is also the time to help you prepare to perfect the necessary skills and experience before actually participating in the labor market and going to work, which is the first step to create and build relationships. So what will students need to prepare for their internship?
The first thing to mention is “psychology - attitude”, to enter a new environment you must have an attitude, a spirit of progress, a desire to learn, and be humble instead of complacent and arrogant. Because knowledge is endless, and learning is never too much. Don’t forget to show everyone that you are a sociable, progressive person, wanting to gain more experience to be more confident in your future career.
Next, you must carefully prepare your documents when going for an internship so as not to be passive. When the company requires anything, you will have it to submit immediately, usually including: internship application, school recommendation letter (if needed), internship CV, resume. This internship process is considered a golden opportunity for you to experience the work of an accountant, so choosing and finding out the necessary information about the company is very necessary and important.
Train yourself to be self-aware, comply with the regulations of the agency where you intern, especially to always be on time. Always be present at work on time and leave on time like other employees. Know how to organize and manage your time well so as not to affect the effectiveness of the work and internship process at the business or organization. You should not do personal work during the time at the company (talking on the phone with friends for too long, surfing Facebook, watching movies...) will make the official employees feel uncomfortable, creating a bad impression.
In terms of knowledge, you must master the profession, expertise, and knowledge you have learned to apply in practice. Be proactive in researching, learning, and improving listening and observation skills, teamwork skills, etc. Be proactive in asking questions when you encounter problems you do not understand or are unclear about the assigned work tasks. Observe how other employees work, their style and communication methods, so that you can learn and draw your own experiences and lessons.
Another thing to mention is the way to dress and conduct yourself when going to work. When you go to school, you are a student and studying in a fairly comfortable environment, however, when you go to work, you need to know how to dress appropriately for the working environment, dress politely, elegantly, and speak politely. That is also a way to show your professionalism right from the smallest things.
Furthermore, you should also practice how to perceive, evaluate and set goals for yourself. Identify your shortcomings to overcome, and your strengths to promote.
The internship period may not be long, but it is enough for you to learn and cultivate the necessary experiences and skills for yourself, before entering a real working environment, away from the university gate. Many students are recruited there to work right after completing their internship. This is the best way instead of applying for a job. Therefore, you should take advantage of the opportunity, be enthusiastic about the job and focus on learning. You should have a positive spirit and attitude as if you are on probation to become an official employee.
