Along with many young people across the country contributing to the consumption of watermelons for the people of the central region, the volunteer student team of Dai Nam University participated in transporting and helping to consume 1 ton of watermelons.
Faced with the risk of losing thousands of tons of watermelons, Quang Ngai people are in dire straits, tens of thousands of families are at risk of losing everything. Together with many young people across the country contributing to the consumption of watermelons for the people of the central region, the volunteer student team of Dai Nam University participated in transporting and helping to consume 1 ton of watermelons at Dai Nam University at 2 campuses Phu Lam and 56 Vu Trong Phung at 5:00 p.m. on April 9, 2015.

Quang Nam people are heartbroken at the risk of losing everything
During the night trip of melons on April 8, 2015 to Hanoi, the Dai Nam Student Volunteer Team was present and joined other associations and community groups to help unload melons at the Melon Distribution Center of Charity Houses in Hanoi. At the same time, the Student Volunteer Team, along with teachers and Dai Nam students, helped Quang Ngai people consume 1 ton of melons in a short time. Without anyone telling anyone, this spontaneous activity of everyone in society, especially students, demonstrated the humanitarian spirit and beauty in the lifestyle of today's youth. Lessons about life values were demonstrated by Dai Nam students through this meaningful charity activity.

The story of buying melons to support the people of Quang Ngai seemed to stop at the beautiful action of a group of students with a kind heart, with noble gestures and love for the community. More than that, that action created a wave of love spreading to the student community and lecturers of Dai Nam. That was shown by the action after being announced in a very short time on social networks Dai Nam University had a lot of interest "like" and "share", as well as a lot of registrations to buy melons to support.

After about half an hour, there was very little melon left.
When the first batch of watermelons “arrived” at Dai Nam, many students and lecturers of Dai Nam participated in buying watermelons to support. In less than an hour, all the watermelons of SVTN students were sold out, to the regret of many people who arrived late and did not have time to buy.

Obviously, buying 1 ton of melons or 100 tons of melons will not help the people of Quang Nam escape poverty. However, it is an action that reminds us to pay more attention to more long-term, more meaningful things in the context of a society that is gradually becoming indifferent. And above all, through that, it helps Dai Nam students better understand the lessons of being human, the lessons of love, the lessons of sharing in their student years.
The next trips will continue to be updated on Dai Nam University Page . On behalf of the SVTN team, we would like to send our most sincere thanks to those who have supported the team in carrying out this action.
Hopefully after the story of selling melons, there will be other stories like selling purple onions... To support farmers across the country in consuming their products to avoid traders forcing down prices.
