Based on the "learner-centered" perspective
In recent years, the philosophy of “taking the learner as the center” has become the dominant viewpoint to move towards fundamental and comprehensive reform of education. However, to achieve this, there needs to be a huge change in awareness from the grassroots management level, as well as teachers and learners, especially teachers. It is not easy, teachers are used to receiving criticism and suggestions from students.
Based on the "learner-centered" perspective
In recent years, the philosophy of “taking the learner as the center” has become the dominant viewpoint to move towards fundamental and comprehensive reform of education. However, to achieve this, there needs to be a huge change in awareness from the grassroots management level, as well as teachers and learners, especially teachers. It is not easy, teachers are used to receiving criticism and suggestions from students.

Dai Nam University students have the right to directly participate in evaluating the quality of lecturers.
Students directly participating in evaluating the quality of lecturers is an unprecedented “precedent” in universities and colleges in Vietnam. At Dai Nam University, this activity has been effectively implemented for 10 years. Accordingly, students’ opinions will be used to improve the long-term teaching activities of lecturers and are an important criterion for the University to evaluate the quality of lecturers alongside other important professional opinions. The overall evaluation results will directly affect the working position and income of lecturers.
Dr. Luong Cao Dong - President of Dai Nam University said: “Taking learners as the center is the philosophy and consistent training viewpoint of Dai Nam University. This is the reason why the University tightens the assessment of lecturer quality and allows students to directly participate in quality assessment. This practical activity not only contributes to improving the training quality of the University but also helps teachers and staff promptly adjust according to students' wishes and aspirations to achieve better teaching results…”
Correct assessment to improve training quality
The survey and quality assessment will be conducted in the second week of the course and after the end of the course. Accordingly, Dai Nam University students will be able to participate in the assessment and feedback on the preparation of lectures, teaching methods, and classroom management methods of lecturers. Based on the survey results, the University will discuss with lecturers to promptly grasp the thoughts and aspirations of students and make timely and appropriate adjustments. Student feedback will be used to improve the long-term teaching activities of lecturers.

In addition, students will directly participate in the assessment. Based on the survey results of the Council and students, we will have appropriate assessments and adjustments. All are aimed at improving the quality of training. The University's viewpoint is to assess the reality to improve the quality of training …”
With over 50 years of teaching experience, Dr. Nguyen Thi Sinh - Deputy Head of the Department of Medicinal Materials and Traditional Medicine, Faculty of Pharmacy - Dai Nam University confided: " Students directly participating in evaluating the quality of lecturers is an unprecedented "precedent" in universities and colleges in Vietnam. I highly welcome this spirit of the School Board of Directors and look forward to listening to comments and assessments from students to change and improve ourselves."

The activity of allowing students to participate in evaluating the quality of lecturers at Dai Nam University is highly appreciated and agreed upon by society.
Having participated in many surveys and evaluations of the quality of lecturers at Dai Nam University, Nguyen Thuy Tien - a student of the Faculty of Pharmacy said: "After receiving our evaluation and comments, the teachers have changed a lot and are more suitable for us. The teaching activities are better, helping us understand and absorb better."
The overall assessment results will directly affect the income and job position of each lecturer. This is the motivation for each staff and lecturer of Dai Nam University to consciously strive to improve their expertise and style. Thereby improving the overall teaching quality of the School, bringing the best training results to students.
