The Love Cake – 14-year journey of connecting love and preserving the soul of Vietnamese Tet

Tet Nguyen Dan – the sacred symbol of reunion, sharing and connection not only has a family meaning but is also an opportunity to spread the spirit of mutual love and preserve the national cultural identity. Over the past 14 years, the program “Banh Nghia Tinh” of Dai Nam University has written a story full of humanity, where teachers and students together wrap green banh chung to bring Tet to the poor.

14 years of building value from the heart

Starting from a small idea, the program “The Cake of Love” has become a traditional activity of Dai Nam University every Tet holiday. Not only is it a volunteer act, it is also a journey to connect generations of teachers and students, affirming social responsibility and pride in national traditions.

From donating, preparing ingredients, to wrapping and cooking the cakes, everything is done with love, unity and respect for national cultural values.

Preserving the spirit of Vietnamese Tet – Educating compassion

Not only a charity activity, "The Cake of Love" is also a vivid lesson about culture, ethics and social responsibility.

- Life skills education: Students learn teamwork, time management, and practical experience.

- Building personality qualities: Each cake is a reminder of the spirit of "helping each other" and responsibility to the community.

- Arousing national spirit: Through each stage of wrapping cakes, students understand more about the meaning of traditional Tet, cherishing the good values left by their ancestors.

- In particular, the program “The Love Cake” of Dai Nam University has also become a unique and creative journey to experience Tet culture. Every year, teachers and students of the school bring new topics, closely related to the traditional beauty and current events of the country, turning the program into a unique cultural festival, where knowledge and human values intersect.

Spread the love - Extend the journey

From green banh chung, the program has expanded into trips carrying the warmth of spring to all disadvantaged areas: from remote mountainous areas, remote villages, to shelters of love. Each destination holds touching moments, when the recipient and the giver spread love together.

More than a charity activity, “The Cake of Love” is an affirmation of Dai Nam University’s educational philosophy: not only teaching knowledge, but also training students in skills, qualities and attitudes.
