After two days away from the capital Hanoi, to a place with beautiful landscapes and rivers - the 5-star resort Wyndham Grand Vedana Cuc Phuong Resort (Ninh Binh), the team of homeroom teachers (GVCN) of Dai Nam University had the opportunity to "rest without rest", to train and also to share, to understand each other better, to bond more, and together to kindle a spirit of humane education, to accompany students wholeheartedly.

Meals and free playtimes, without any boundaries of age or rank, created a friendly atmosphere – where everyone could be themselves, listen, laugh and connect together. The short trip was deep enough to bridge the gap between the School Council, the Board of Directors and the homeroom teachers – busy people who do not often have the opportunity to sit together.

Don't leave students alone on their college journey

Not only teaching and researching, homeroom teachers at Dai Nam University are also friends, inspirations and spiritual supports for students throughout their growing years. As academic advisors, teachers are the "silent hearts" connecting students with the school - quietly discovering, supporting, motivating, listening to every concern and helping students overcome the most difficult days.

The moment teachers listen, learn and share experiences together.

Sharing at the program, Dr. Le Dac Son - Chairman of the University Council - emotionally affirmed: "Although artificial intelligence can replace many jobs, it cannot replace the heart and soul of a teacher. The work of a homeroom teacher, silently, quietly but persistently, is an indispensable part of the educational identity of Dai Nam University."

He emphasized: without homeroom teachers, there would be no turning points that change students' lives, and the "Hedgehog" educational strategy that the school pursues would only stop at theory.

From enrollment to graduation – and beyond

In the coming time, Dai Nam University will continue to invest heavily in academic advising activities, from applying technology to "see and understand" students better, to enhancing training and support so that homeroom teachers have more tools and more energy to continue accompanying students in the digital age.

Homeroom teachers are the heart of Dai Nam University

…Because, if the homeroom teacher is the heart of a humane educational environment, then the bond between teachers is the blood that nourishes that heart to always beat steadily – full of love, full of trust and full of hope.

The teachers were excited and spread positive spirit in the professional training session.

At Dai Nam University, every student has a homeroom teacher by their side from the moment they enroll. Not only do they manage the classroom, take attendance, and remind students of their lessons, but they are also the ones who detect signs of psychological instability, who rekindle dreams when students want to give up, who stay up late and wake up early to call and text, and find ways to pull students back to the path of learning and maturity.

Ms. Nguyen Nhu Hao - Faculty of Korean Language and Culture - shared emotionally: "The first thing I feel, for homeroom teachers to be able to connect with students - is to remember their names. Students will be very touched when teachers remember and call their names correctly with a loving tone. At that time, students will not hesitate to share and be much more open."

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Xuan – Faculty of Accounting – continued: “There are students who are introverted and shy to share. But when teachers listen and encourage them properly, they gradually become more open and stronger. We not only teach them to read and write, but also teach them to love themselves and dare to dream.”

Ms. Phan Thi Thuy - Faculty of Business Administration & Marketing - also emphasized the role of orientation right from the most basic things: "If you want students to grasp the process and regulations, the first thing the homeroom teacher must do is understand clearly and know how to convey them at the right time and place. When guided like that, students will not violate and will feel that going to school is very easy and clear."

This year's training program also delves into understanding the psychology of Generation Z - students who are both energetic and full of worries.

Ms. Le Thi Thanh Huong – Vice Principal – affirmed: “Accompanying students does not stop at the graduation ceremony. Many teachers continue to help them after graduation, connecting them with career opportunities and guiding them on their way. That is the spirit of ‘devotion to students’ that Dai Nam University always preserves.”

Ms. Cao Thi Hoa - Vice President of Dai Nam University Council

Ms. Cao Thi Hoa – Vice President of the School Board – emphasized in the closing ceremony: “The work of homeroom teacher – academic advisor at Dai Nam University is not only a duty, but also a mission filled with love and responsibility. We are proud to have such teachers – dedicated, persistent, quiet but intense.”
