Starting from October 30, 2019, the School will stop using bottled water, plastic straws and single-use plastic items in school meetings, conferences, seminars and events.
In order to educate awareness and raise responsibility for environmental protection among staff, lecturers and students; deeply spread the message of joining hands to protect the environment in the community; continue and maintain the success of environmental protection activities carried out over the past years, Dai Nam University decided to stop using bottled water, plastic straws and single-use plastic items in school activities from October 30, 2019.

Accordingly, starting from October 30, 2019, Dai Nam University will stop using bottled water, plastic straws and single-use plastic items in meetings, conferences, seminars and events of the school. The school encourages staff, lecturers and students to actively bring their own water bottles (glass, stainless steel) or use water in the teachers' lounge and lecture hall duty room.

Also from October 30, all classrooms will stop serving plastic bottled water to lecturers. Lecturers use personal water bottles to get drinking water in the teachers' room or the lecture hall's duty room. Lecture halls , canteens, dormitories, schoolyards and living areas of staff, lecturers and students must strictly implement the maximum restriction on the use of plastic bags, replacing plastic bags with paper bags or environmentally friendly cloth bags, not using plastic straws but instead using bamboo straws or stainless steel straws. Staff, lecturers and students should actively bring personal water bottles to use instead of using disposable bottles, bring bowls, chopsticks, food containers to replace foam boxes, plastic bags and disposable plastic food containers. Staff and lecturers who order office meals should choose suppliers that use stainless steel containers instead of foam boxes, both ensuring health and not harming the environment. At the same time, staff, lecturers and students in the whole school proactively classify reusable waste into waste sorting bins...
To implement this regulation, Dai Nam University has planned to give reusable water bottles to all staff and lecturers of the school; directed the Administration Department to survey and supplement large glass water bottles to serve staff in meeting rooms.
The school also assigned the Student Management Department, Youth Union, and Communications Department to coordinate with mass organizations in the school to propagate and mobilize staff, lecturers, and students to carry out effective, practical, and sustainable environmental protection programs.

Next, on the morning of November 2 and the following Saturdays of November, the entire school will launch a campaign to spread the message to the community at intersections on the road from Nga Tu So - Ha Dong, including: CoopMart Ha Dong intersection; Big C Ho Guom Plaza intersection; Ha Dong Post Office intersection; Ha Dong Stadium intersection and Khuat Duy Tien - Nguyen Trai intersection. At these locations, Dai Nam teachers and students will use banners, streamers, slogans and slogans to propagate environmental issues with the aim of raising people's awareness of environmental protection. It is worth noting that these propaganda contents were conceptualized and designed by the school's staff, lecturers and students.
With meaningful messages such as: "Using paper bags is seeing the future", "Using plastic bags is not stylish"; "don't go out and disregard life", "for the sake of the environment, despise plastic products", "white waste in the river is lifeless", "destroying the environment is suicide", ... and serious "say no" activities to plastic bags and single-use plastic products carried out synchronously and systematically throughout the school, the environmental protection program For a clean Hanoi of Dai Nam University will certainly contribute to spreading the message of environmental protection in the community .
