From early morning, many young people gathered to transport the cleaned dong leaves, green beans, pork belly, and sticky rice prepared the night before to the school's main hall.
Hundreds of students, along with the school’s lecturers, rolled up their sleeves and started wrapping the cakes. Once wrapped, the meaningful cakes were boiled right in the school yard.

Teachers and students of Dai Nam University watched the pot of banh chung while playing music and singing for each other .

For Phung Thi Dam - a 6th-year student of the Faculty of Business Administration, wrapping banh chung for Tet is very familiar. This is the 4th year Dam has participated in wrapping banh chung at school.
She shared: " I learned how to wrap banh chung from my father. At home, I'm usually the one wrapping banh chung for Tet, so it's not strange anymore...".

For Phung Thi Dam, the job of wrapping banh chung is really simple.

Student Trinh Thi Thanh Ha, class 6, Faculty of Business Administration has participated in the cake wrapping activity at school for 3 years.

However, many students are still quite unfamiliar with completing a cake by themselves, so every year there is always a person in charge of general guidance.

Some students are not yet proficient in wrapping cakes, carefully following each activity.

Master Nguyen Thi Minh Xuan, lecturer of the Faculty of Accounting, gives detailed instructions to students on how to wrap cakes.

Mr. Grinil Khanna - a lecturer at Dai Nam Foreign Language Center, who has just started teaching English at the school for 10 days, was excited to join in making banh chung. This was the first time he participated in making banh chung, he was really surprised but really enjoyed this activity of the students.
“It feels great, but it would be more fun with a little more music” (laughs). Grinil Khanna shared with us.

For 5 years, "The Cake of Love" has become an annual activity of teachers and students of Dai Nam University. After boiling, the cooked cakes are taken out, pressed carefully and will be given to people in especially difficult circumstances.
This year, the destinations of these meaningful cakes are K Hospital, Branch 2, the Central Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, homeless people, lonely people, Social Protection Center 2, Hoa Binh Village, poor blind people in Thach That and Quoc Oai districts...
Although the gifts are small, they are very precious to the families of patients who have gone bankrupt after many days of treatment. They are feelings, hearts, and messages of warmth and not being alone.
This is an activity with high educational significance and profound humanistic values of the teachers and students of Dai Nam University. Through this activity, students not only learn the lesson of sharing but also the gifts from you will contribute to warming the hearts of the poor, the lonely, the sick, and the blind.
