Faced with the blood shortage caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, responding to the Youth Month 2022 movement, on March 21, Dai Nam University Youth Union coordinated with the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion to successfully organize the 5th Dai Nam Red Drops voluntary blood donation festival, collecting nearly 300 units of quality blood, contributing to the National Blood Bank.

The Covid-19 pandemic peaked in Hanoi, causing voluntary blood donation activities in the community, agencies, organizations, and schools to not be carried out regularly, so the National Blood Bank is increasingly depleted. The risk of blood shortage for patients occurs in many places across the country and is especially serious in the Northern region.

Promoting the tradition of mutual love, "donate blood - give life", "a drop of blood given - a life left", although only students of the Health sector including the faculties of Medicine, Pharmacy, and Nursing have returned to school to study, Dai Nam University still organized the 5th Dai Nam Red Drop voluntary blood donation festival to join hands with the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion to solve the current urgent blood shortage.

Nearly 400 staff, lecturers and students registered to participate with 350 volunteers donating blood directly. At the end of the festival, the Organizing Committee collected nearly 300 units of quality blood, contributing to the National Blood Bank.

Nguyen Duc Huong - Class YDK 15-02, Faculty of Medicine shared: “ This is the second time I have donated blood. I feel very happy and proud to have contributed a small part to caring for and protecting people's health. I hope the school will continue to maintain this meaningful activity and when all students return to school, it should be organized more often so that all students can participate…”

Mr. Vu Dang Tuan Anh - Secretary of the Youth Union of Dai Nam University said: In the coming time, when all students of all majors return to school to study, the Youth Union of Dai Nam University will continue to organize the 5th Dai Nam Blood Drop program - phase 2, 3 on a school-wide scale so that many teachers and students can donate blood to save lives.
