“Thank you for introducing students to me!”

The thank you from the employer made me feel really happy. Happy not because I was thanked but because I did something to help the students. They go to work to earn extra income and gain experience before graduating. There is nothing better than doing a job related to their major.

It has been several months since I introduced my language student to work as a part-time employee in the training department of a very famous English center in Hanoi. Before she came to the interview room, I told the company's HR department, "Please interview in English, ask about skills, experience, enthusiasm... If you think it's okay, hire her, if not, then don't. Just evaluate her fairly, don't be afraid that she's your student."
After more than a week, I received a message saying “Teacher, I have been accepted, thank you very much”. And from the moment I read those messages, I knew that my student had overcome a small challenge on a very long road in life to fly on her own wings. I thought to myself that working in an educational environment would be very good for her to improve herself, improve her expertise, and practice communication skills. That job would help her to have more contact with native teachers, to know how to love and care for teaching young children. And most of all, she would have experiences so that in the future, even if she may not pursue this job anymore, she would have more experience to be able to choose the most suitable job for herself.

During my teaching, I always bring some of my social and business experience to share with the hope that students will not only have knowledge from books but also have a vision of the labor market, knowing how to equip themselves with the necessary skills to be able to compete in an increasingly fierce environment.
Maybe when I am writing these lines, that student is working hard. I still remember when I was sitting preparing my lesson plan, the phone rang, "Sister, I have to thank you. That student helped me a lot, she is very quick!". That was truly a very fair assessment from the employer and I was filled with pride. Actually, I did not help my student at all, but she herself made an effort and tried. She proved her ability to the employer. Hopefully, all of our Dai Nam students in the future will be confident enough to apply for jobs and always be highly appreciated in the eyes of employers. If that happens, it is truly the happiness of every teacher.
