Implementing the training policy of the Board of Directors of Dai Nam University on active teaching, first of all, teachers need to have a correct perception of active teaching methods. These are educational and teaching methods that promote the positivity, initiative and creativity of learners. Active teaching methods aim to activate and activate the cognitive activities of learners, that is, focus on promoting the positivity of learners rather than focusing on promoting the positivity of teachers. Lecturers no longer play the role of purely knowledge transmitters, but become designers, organizers, and instructors of independent or small group activities, so that students can proactively grasp the learning content and achieve the goals of knowledge, capacity, and learning attitudes.
Active teaching is essentially activating students in class. Depending on the level of student cooperation, the teacher's preparation, the teacher's qualifications, and the students' learning habits, active teaching can be organized more or less to suit the training goals.
At the ceremony, on behalf of the Board of Directors of Dai Nam University, Associate Professor, Dr. Phan Trong Phuc - Principal of the school commented: "In general, the faculties have made efforts in active teaching, knowing how to apply practical methods to effectively approach learners. The school is committed to always supporting lecturers in the teaching process and building active lectures".
According to the evaluation report on the implementation of the active teaching plan for the first semester of the 2016-2017 school year of the faculties of Finance and Banking, Accounting, Business Administration, Public Relations and Communications, and Information Technology, in general, the faculties highly appreciated the effectiveness of active teaching methods; knowing how to incorporate practical issues and situations into the lesson design.
Dr. Luong Cao Dong - Vice Principal of the school and Head of the Faculty of Information Technology shared: “We need to choose the right and know how to flexibly apply teaching methods. For the lessons to be truly effective, lecturers need to have methods to change students' attitudes, helping them to be excited about new learning methods. At the same time, students need to participate directly with teachers in the learning process, to be guided on how to study and know how to study more effectively on their own.”
