Innovating teaching methods, taking learners as the center has been the training policy of Dai Nam University for many years. Currently, many faculties in the school have introduced many new subjects into the training program with learning methods mainly through practical experience activities. That innovation has created positive effects from students, most of whom absorb knowledge quickly, understand the lessons and are more interested in the new subject. Pham Thi Thu Hang - Student of QTKD class 09-02 shared her feelings about the new subject "Business Games" applied by the Faculty. Learning through practical business experiences has helped Hang and her classmates achieve better results, increasing their passion for business. Below is an article about Pham Thi Thu Hang's comments and feelings after finishing the subject "Business Games" of the Faculty of Business Administration.

Business games can be said to be one of the strange and new subjects for a first-year student like us. The subject not only gave me a new perspective on business but also helped me understand that real business is much harsher than my initial imagination.

First of all, the course "Business Games" simulated in class with basic knowledge helped me understand more about business terms. From quite familiar terms such as profit, cost of raw materials, labor costs, cost of goods sold, product marketing... To terms I heard for the first time such as: break-even point, business results report, balance sheet... All of those concepts were explained to me by the teachers in the class in a fairly easy-to-understand way and guided to create specific reports. From there, it helped me and the whole group to be more interested and confident in entering the business sessions in class.

The most interesting thing about the business sessions in class is that we get to experience negotiating and signing contracts with “companies” which are other groups in the class. In addition, we always have to face the problem: how to get products (hats) that are suitable for “market trends” and sell them at the best price? Through the “four business sessions” in class with increasing difficulty, I have understood what business is, become more confident in communication and draw many useful lessons for myself.

Another interesting point of the subject is the practical business content. The teachers required that each group spend an initial capital of no more than one million VND and have to come up with a practical business plan. After the whole group agreed on the business plan and received the teachers' approval, we officially started the practical business.

PROJECT team at the actual business location

After discussing with each other, our group decided to start a lemon tea business. Everything started from choosing where to buy the ingredients? Where to sell? When to sell? How to sell? At what price? These were really difficult questions because none of the group members had ever done real business before. That is why we started our real business with both excitement and anxiety. Because we wanted to achieve better business results than our “competitors” in the class.

Delivery team

With the spirit of solidarity, we overcame the shyness of selling and became one of the groups with the best practical business part. Although we did not have high profits, after the practical business part, I made more close friends. And the most important thing we got was the ability to work in a team. From the learning process in class to the practical business days, we handled situations together and helped each other. I felt more sociable with everyone and expressed myself more when studying this subject.

I would like to sincerely thank the School in general and the teachers in the Faculty for bringing us interesting and useful subjects. I myself as well as my classmates, in the Faculty of Business Administration will try to study well, practice skills, and enrich knowledge to become future entrepreneurs.
