“An Cung Ngưu Hoàng Hoàn” is a famous medicine of the famous physician Ngo Duong of the Qing Dynasty - China, consisting of 11 ingredients: (1) Bezoar (natural gallstones in the gallbladder of buffalo and cows) 40g, (2) Rhinoceros horn 40g, (3) Musk (musk sac in musk deer, civet, and muskrat) 10g, (4) Pearl (pearl) 20g, (5) Cinnabar or cinnabar 40g, (6) Realgar (natural mineral) 40g, (7) Camphor also known as Long nao 10g, (8) Coptis chinensis 40g, (9) Scutellaria baicalensis 40g, (10) Gardenia fruit 40g and (11) Turmeric (turmeric) 40g.
The above ingredients are ground into powder, mixed well, mixed with honey, made into pills, each pill weighs 4g, stored in wax bags. Take 3 times a day, 1 pill each time, the dose can be increased for serious illnesses. Mainly treats encephalitis, delirium, convulsions, treats heat, internal heat pathogens that block the pericardium, phlegm-heat that blocks the lungs and heart orifices, leading to high fever, restlessness, coma, speech disorders, retracted tongue, cold limbs, stroke orifices closed. In addition, there is also the form of "Ngưu Hoàng Thanh Tâm" pills, including 0.4g of bezoar, 6g of coptis, 4g of cinnabar, 12g of scutellaria, 12g of gardenia fruit and 12g of turmeric, which is a medicine for expectoration, sedation, delirium, epilepsy, and phlegm and congestion.
Currently on the market there are 2 types of bezoar, natural bezoar has the scientific name calculus bovis (bezoar), synthetic bezoar has the scientific name calculus bovis artificialis (bezoar artificialis). People get natural bezoar by: Old, thin, weak buffalo or cow, dim eyes, when walking with the head slightly tilted, standing or lying down with wheezing like asthma, are the ones with bezoar. When removing the gall bladder, cut and filter through a sieve, take out the bezoar. If left for a long time, the bile will soak in, making the bezoar turn black, reducing the quality. Bezoar is washed with alcohol, vacuum filtered, dried in the shade until dry. Preserve by wrapping in cellophane, put in a sealed box, with quicklime underneath to absorb moisture. Do not expose to the sun or fire, do not leave in the light, to avoid cracking the shell and darkening. Bovine bezoar contains cholic acid, cholesterol, ergosterol, fatty acids, bilirubin, vitamin D, calcium salts, iron and copper. Bovine bezoar has a bitter taste, cool properties, but is slightly toxic, acting on the heart and liver meridians. It has the effect of clearing the mind, cooling, opening the senses, loosening phlegm, calming the nerves, and detoxifying. It is used as a sedative, strengthening the heart, treating insanity, high fever, delirium, and epilepsy in children. Use from 0.3 to 0.9g per day, divided into several times.
Rhinoceros horn has the scientific name Cornu rhinoceri. Rhinoceros is a mammal, thick skin, large rough, horn on the nose, scientific name is Rhinoceros sondaicus Desmarest, belongs to the Rhinoceros family - Rhinocerotidae. Rhinoceros have 1 or 2 horns, one-horned rhinoceros has small and large types, sometimes divided into Asian and African rhinoceros, usually only males have horns. Rhinoceros often live alone in old forests, deep forests, dangerous areas, swamps, because it likes to wallow in mud. Males and females only pair up during the breeding season. When hunted, many do not die immediately, run into the deep forest, in some cases after a long time the forest goers discover them. Therefore, the quality of rhinoceros horn is very different, not only depending on the type of rhinoceros, but also depending on the time the dead rhinoceros is discovered to collect the horn. Rhino horn is harvested by separating the thick skin from the nasal bone, scraping off the membrane and hard spikes at the base. The horn is round and club-shaped, with a pointed tip, 20-25cm long, the outer surface is black, fading towards the bottom. The base of the horn has small saw teeth, called "ma nha bien", unevenly concave and convex, around the ma nha bien in the middle there are vertical stripes and straight hard spikes, called "cuong mao", the front of the horn has a vertical groove, 12-16cm long, below the groove there is a bump, called "dia cuong", about 8cm long and 4cm high, the horn has many dense round dots, called "sa de", the horn is solid and heavy, the vertical grain is even, there is no twisted grain, so it can only be split lengthwise, the split blade is grayish white, dotted like sesame seeds. The good type is shiny black, does not crack, the sa de is round and large, has a light fragrance. Due to its rarity and prohibition of use, nowadays water buffalo horn is used instead.
Rhino horn contains keratin, calcium carbonate, calcium phosphate, amino acids, and there are documents that show that rhino horn extract gives alkaloid reactions.
Rhinoceros horn has a bitter, sour, salty taste, cold properties, enters the heart, liver, and stomach meridians, cools the blood, detoxifies, and calms the nerves. Used in cases of high fever, jaundice, hemoptysis, nosebleeds (stops bleeding), headaches, and treats boils. Dosage ranges from 0.5 to 6g in the form of decoctions, powders, or ground to get water to drink. Currently on the market, there is a type of buffalo horn that only has the effect of treating headaches caused by cold and heat weather, heat and toxic wind, heat in children, and too much heat. Higher doses do not have the effect of calming the nerves and stopping bleeding. Recently, it is also believed that rhinoceros horn has a strong aphrodisiac effect.
Musk is a musk sac taken from musk deer or civet. The scientific name of musk deer is Moschus moschiferus L. In Vietnam, musk deer are found in Cao Bang, Lang Son, Bac Can, living in mountainous areas at an altitude of 1000-2000 m, foraging at dusk or at night, living alone, mating during the breeding season (February-May), only reaching a weight of about 15 kg. Male musk deer have a round, hairy sac, slightly swollen under the belly, located between the navel and genitals, the musk sac increases with age, can weigh 30-60 g in adult musk deer. The musk bag must be cut immediately, the musk substance is in a thick form like milk or honey, when dried it becomes powder, or into lumpy grains, of uneven size, has a pungent aroma, especially strong, does not lose its smell after a long time, in powder form it is yellow-brown, red-brown or purple-red, rolled into a ball by hand, but does not stick into a block, in grain form the quality is better. When mixed with camphor, valerian, cajeput essential oil, hydrocyanic acid, musk loses its characteristic smell. Because it is a rare medicinal herb, it is often mixed with bean flour, noodles, especially the powder of the Acacia tree seeds, because this seed also has a musk smell. Take musk and put it in a bowl of hot water, it will dissolve immediately, no residue, the solution will be light yellow, strong aroma, or put musk in the fire and see it crackle, flash, then leave a clear oil note, it is pure musk.
Musk can also be made with cloves by burning the musk bag until all the hairs are burned, cutting it into 5-6 pieces, adding 20g of cloves, and grinding it into a fine powder. This mixture can be preserved for 5-6 years.
Musk contains essential oil, the main component of which is muskon, 1-keton-3-methyl-cyclopentadecanon with a content of 0.5-2%, muskon gives the characteristic smell of musk. Currently, exalton (exaltolid) has been synthesized with a similar smell to muskon. In addition, musk also contains fat, cholesterol and protein.
Musk has a spicy, pungent taste, warm properties, non-toxic, enters 12 meridians, clears the channels, clears the orifices, treats stroke, coma, dizziness, activates the joints, reduces inflammation, stimulates, relieves pain, detoxifies, treats eye pain, and is used as a decongestant and rejuvenator for women with weak strength during childbirth. Use 0.04-0.10 g per day in powder form. Musk is not used in decoction form. The famous special medicines "Luc Than Hoan" and "Nhan Don", in which musk is a famous medicine. According to the experience of the highlanders, a few grams of musk mixed with 5-6 star anise, 30g of Achyranthes bidentata and 0.4g of sulfur, dried, crushed, put in a cloth bag, tied to the navel, to make a contraceptive.
In China, there is still a skin care medicine for Empress Dowager Cixi, consisting of 0.4g of musk, 1.6g of white silkworm, 0.8g of camphor, 1.6g of hawthorn and 2.4g of mung bean. All are ground into a fine powder, mixed with water to make a cream (According to Cixi Guangxu's medical prescription). Musk is also a high-class fragrance, used as a fixative in perfumes and scented soaps. Every year, Europe consumes about 100,000 musk bags, each kg of musk bag costs about 1,500 dollars, each kg of pure musk is worth over 80,000 dollars. In the world, musk from Tibet and Indochina countries is more popular than musk from countries of the former Soviet Union, Korea, Mongolia, Nepal and India.
In nature, wild civets, scientifically known as Viverricula indica, and wild civets (Viverra zibetha) also produce musk like musk deer. Nowadays, people have synthesized a substance with a scent identical to musk, or mixed with powdered acacia fruit, which also has a musk-like scent.
Pearls, also known as pearls, have the scientific name margarita, the English name pearl, in the form of a circle or oval, 6-8 mm in diameter, smooth, white, shiny, when broken there are layers of faint veins, cultured pearls have many different colors, pink is more popular. In the world market, Pteria martensii Dunker, a river mussel, sometimes also produces pearls but is not as valuable as pearls. Pearl oysters have a special self-defense ability, when larvae or sand grains fall between the shell and mantle, the oyster immediately secretes limestone, nacre and conchiolin (like chitin), to surround the foreign object, forming concentric layers of membranes, many times like that to form pearls.
Pearls have a sweet, salty taste, cold properties, enter the heart and liver meridians, have the effect of clearing heat, nourishing yin, calming the mind, eliminating phlegm, brightening the eyes, detoxifying. Treats depression, diabetes, frequent startles, sore throat, red eyes, pterygium, externally treats boils and ulcers. Dosage: 0.03-0.60 g/day, in powder or pill form. Pearls are praised as a miracle cure for making the face bright and beautiful, and are known as "Khang Tho Chi Thach". Thanks to regularly drinking pearl powder, Empress Dowager Tu Xi had rosy, shiny and smooth skin, even though she was over 70 years old. In Europe, people use pearls to treat epilepsy and insanity.
Cinnabar or cinnabar has the scientific name sulfuratum hydrargyrium (cinnabaris) is a mineral, has many different shapes such as pieces, fibers, grains, lumps... red or pinkish brown, has a shiny mark, is solid but very brittle, often crushed into powder, must not be mixed with sand, rub with fingers, the color does not leave hands is good. It has no taste, does not dissolve in water, put in a test tube and heat to turn into black sulfur, then continue to decompose into sulfur dioxide gas and metallic mercury that sticks to the tube wall.
People process it by: Grinding cinnabar in a mortar or porcelain bowl, adding a little rainwater or distilled water, letting it settle, when there is a film floating on top, remove it, use a magnet to absorb all the iron filings, stir gently and decant the red water. Do this many times until the water is no longer red, the clear water is called water phi. Cover the residue in the bowl with tissue paper, dry in the sun until dry. Currently on the market there is artificial cinnabar, the quality is lower than natural cinnabar. Cinnabar contains 86% mercury and 14% sulfur in the form of HgS compound. In 1963, Dam Trung Bao determined that mercury selenide is the active ingredient of cinnabar, with a content of 3.5-4.5%. In cinnabar, this substance is very low, only in trace form. Cinnabar is usually in the form of red powder, while cinnabar is in the form of shiny lumps, dark red or bright red. In 1964, Hanoi Medical University concluded: Sodium and potassium salts of selenium such as selenate or selenite are very toxic and should not be used. HgSe salt in colloidal form is found in cinnabar or cinnabar or synthetically, is less toxic and has a stronger sedative and anticonvulsant effect than bromide. It acts on the cerebral cortex, does not change the heart rate, prolongs sleep and prolongs the duration of anesthesia. Abroad, some selenium compounds are used such as cinnabar and cinnabar. In 1964, the US used 5.5% of selenium as medicine, estimated at about 30 tons. Thus, if pure HgSe is isolated from cinnabar for use, the toxicity will be greatly reduced. If using cinnabar or cinnabar, it must be noted: these two ingredients are very sensitive to heat, if ground or crushed with hot water, mercury will be released, increasing toxicity, so they must be ground or crushed with cold water. Cinnamon is a group A poison and should be stored in a yellow glass bottle, tightly capped and kept in a locked, dry cabinet.
Cinnabar is slightly cold, enters the heart meridian, has the effect of calming the nerves, detoxifying, used as a medicine to cool the heart, treat panic, insomnia, frequent dreams, startles, should only be used at a dose of 0.3-1g/day in powder or pill form. Chinese traditional medicine believes that cinnabar or cinnabar has the effect of calming the soul, calming the nerves, treating insanity, epilepsy, brightening the eyes, detoxifying, treating convulsions, early stage syphilis, insomnia, frequent dreams, mental demons, dark phlegm, nourishing the spirit, but must be used raw without fire. China makes "Qui Thanh Dan" to treat simple insanity, fear, anxiety, thinking, forgetfulness, insufficient heart and qi. How to prepare: Use 2 pig hearts, split in half, add 64g of cinnabar and 300g of cyperus rotundus (lampwort), sew them together, put them in a clay pot and cook thoroughly, take out the cinnabar and grind it, mix it with 64g of Poria cocos powder, mix it with glutinous rice paste, make pills the size of corn kernels. Take 9 pills each time, use the decoction of Ophiopogon japonicus to lead the medicine, if the disease is severe, use ginseng water. Realgar or realgar has the scientific name of realgar, contains natural arsenic bisulfur, is a mineral with a specific gravity of about 3.5 - burns and vaporizes at 700 degrees Celsius, orange-red color, Thu hoang is yellow, shiny, called "Minh realgar" is a solid mass, has a slightly burnt smell of sulfur, when crushed it is pink, insoluble in water, soluble in ammonia to form a colorless solution. Put it on hot coals to give the smell of garlic (containing arsenic) and SO2 gas. When natural realgar is in the ground it is soft, use a bamboo knife to cut it into pieces, when it comes out it is solid. Realgar is usually ground with water, some places use vinegar mixed with vegetable water, cooked with realgar until dry then use. In realgar, arsenic accounts for 70.1%, sulfur 29.9%. Some authors say: Realgar is As2S3, and orchioides is As2S2, in orchioides there is stenbi sulfur (Sb2S3), iron sulfur and silicon oxide. Realgar must be preserved according to the regulations of poisons in group A. It acts on the liver and stomach meridians, in our country it is mainly used externally to treat scabies, boils. In China, when taken orally, it must be mixed with water to remove phlegm and detoxify, treat convulsions, and prolonged malaria. The oral dose is 1.5-3g in powder or pill form, but must be very careful. Some documents record using equal amounts of realgar and cinnabar, 3g per day, using blood from a freshly slaughtered pig's heart mixed with boiling water to conduct the medicine, treating epilepsy.
Camphor, scientifically known as borneol or camphor, is the substance obtained when the essential oil of the great compassion is sublimated. Also known as "mai hoa camphor", it has a bitter, spicy taste, a hot aroma, and a cold nature. It affects the heart, spleen, and lung meridians, and has the effect of dispersing wind and cold, reducing phlegm, disinfecting, clearing the orifices, treating heart pain, and chronic cough. Dosage: 0.1-0.2 g/day in powder form, or 20-30 g of fresh great compassion leaves. You can preserve mai hoa camphor by the following manual method: Use a steamer on a basin of cold water, put the chopped great compassion leaves in the steamer, add enough water to cover, cover the steamer and basin, simmer for 3-4 hours, the mai hoa camphor sublimates and sticks to the bottom of the basin, take it out and scrape off the camphor powder. According to traditional Chinese medicine, camphor has the effect of clearing all orifices, dispelling heat and stagnation, removing membranes, brightening the eyes, expelling wind, and treating epilepsy. When entering the stomach, there is a feeling of heat and refreshment, reaching the intestines, stimulating the nerves of the intestinal wall, increasing peristalsis, increasing white blood cells, increasing circulation, stimulating the brain nerves, increasing heart movement, and fulfilling all ten parts of the spirit. Treats heart weakness. Coptis chinensis or chicken foot coptis (coptis quinquesecta) belongs to the Ranunculaceae family (not to be confused with some other herbs such as prickly coptis or black coptis of the Berberidaceae family) is a precious medicinal herb, in Vietnam there are 2 species out of 12 species in the world, some authors believe that we have 3 species, but later determined that Coptis teeta, which China calls "Van Hoang Lien" and Coptis chinensis are the same species. The reason for the name Hoang Lien is because this herb is yellow, the roots are horizontal, connected to each other. Both species are herbaceous plants that love moisture and are especially shade-loving, often growing in clumps on cliffs or on tree trunks with lots of moss, in high mountains from 1600 to 2200m, the forest is always humid, cloudy all year round, average temperature 13-14 degrees Celsius. Coptis chinensis flowers and fruits every year, but the amount of seeds is not much, regenerates mainly by seeds, now it has been exhausted. In China, the medicinal plant is mainly grown in Szechwan province, the roots are harvested in autumn. The main chemical components are alkaloids, such as berberine, palmatin... Coptis chinensis has the following uses: purging fire, detoxifying, clearing heat, drying dampness, antiseptic, when entering the meridians: heart, liver, stomach and large intestine, cooling heart fire, draining spleen dampness, cooling blood, eliminating stagnation, stopping diarrhea, treating gastric juice deficiency, sore eyes with pus, brightening eyes, treating forgetfulness, treating 5 cold and hot organs, bloody stools, stopping diabetes, excessive fear, benefiting bones, opening depression and removing annoyance, cooling the heat of heart fire, treating the madness caused by toxic yang. In the book "Complete Book of Herbs", Andrew Chevallier wrote about the Chinese medicine coptis chinensis as follows: Coptis chinensis clears heat and dries dampness in the body. Use 2-12 g per day in the form of a decoction. The way of preparation changes the function and effect of coptis chinensis: Used raw, it treats real fire, mania, and thirst; fried with corn water, it regulates taste, and benefits the rectum; Stir-fried with clay to treat food stagnation and worms; stir-fried with salt water to treat lower burner with fu fire, swelling and pain in the vulva; stir-fried with wine to treat upper burner; stir-fried with ginger juice to treat middle burner diseases; stir-fried with Chinese clematis to treat lower burner diseases; soaked in ginger juice and stir-fried to increase heat, prepared with ginger to reduce cold properties. Scutellaria baicalensis is the second medicinal ingredient in the “An cung nguu hoang hoan” formula, which has the function of treating heat symptoms and drying dampness in the body. When entering the stomach, it increases gastric juice, when reaching the intestines, it increases peristalsis, when entering the blood, it increases the amount of oxygen to cool down the heat, it is a medicine that clears heat, repels yang and nourishes yin, when going up, it cools the fire above, when it is stable above, it sends the air down to cool the fire below, used to cool the heart, treat damp heat in the lungs, clear the fire in the lungs, and bring it back up to treat heat in the upper part of the body, such as red and swollen eyes, blood stasis, and blood stasis in the upper part of the body, when going down, it replenishes cold water in the bladder, calms the fetus, nourishes yin and relieves yang. Therefore, when preparing Scutellaria baicalensis, if you want to go up, you stir-fry it with wine, if you want to eliminate fire in the liver and gallbladder, you stir-fry it with pig bile, stir-fry it with Bupleurum to relieve hot and cold attacks, stir-fry it with peony to treat dysentery, stir-fry it with tangerine peel to clear lung fire, stir-fry it with Atractylodes macrocephala to calm the fetus. But the main effect of Scutellaria baicalensis is to clear heat and damp heat. Scutellaria baicalensis is the dried root of the Scutellaria baicalensis plant. The old root: black hollow inside, yellow outside is called dry root, the young root is hard, smooth in the middle, yellow outside, called diep cam. The type as big as a finger is the good type. When using, wash it, cover it overnight to soften, slice it 2mm thinly, dry it, soak it in wine for 2 hours, and roast it. In 1973, 92 Scutellaria baicalensis pills were found in a tomb in the 2nd century AD in Northwest China, so Scutellaria baicalensis has been used as medicine since at least that time. Scutellaria baicalensis contains essential oils and flavonoids such as baicalin, scutelarin, woogonin... which enter the heart, lung, liver, gallbladder, and large intestine meridians. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Scutellaria baicalensis is mainly used as a tonic, sedative, anticonvulsant, antipyretic, treatment of central nervous system dysfunction, epilepsy, insomnia, heart disease, especially myocarditis. Take 6-15g per day in the form of decoction or powder. Nowadays, experimental pharmacology has proven that flavonoids in Scutellaria baicalensis have anti-inflammatory, analgesic, platelet aggregation inhibitory effects, prevent thrombocytopenia and fibrinogen causing blood clotting, inhibit cholesterol and triglyceride deposition, reduce their concentrations in the blood, inhibit the carcinogenic ability of chemicals, inhibit toxins such as aflatoxin. Hot water extract of Scutellaria baicalensis inhibits the enzyme aldose reductase causing sorbitol accumulation in cells, leading to complications in the retina. Gardenia fruit or gardenia fruit is gardenia fruit, with the scientific name fructus gardenia, used as medicine in traditional Chinese medicine for at least 2000 years, it also provides essential oils used to flavor tea, make perfumes often mixed with jasmine and lily essential oils, gardenia fruit powder mixed with egg whites, applied to treat bruises and freckles. In traditional Chinese medicine, gardenia fruit has a bitter taste, cold properties, enters the heart, lung and triple burner meridians, has the effect of clearing dampness and heat in the triple burner, clearing the stagnation of the five limbs, thus clearing heat and cooling the blood, for the nervous system it has the effect of calming, treating chest pain, treating the five internal pathogens such as heat in the stomach, red face due to alcohol, red eyes due to heat, hair loss, burning sensation in the chest, heart, large and small intestines, and depression in the heart. The processing method is also related to the effects: Used raw, it clears heat, treats fever; fried until golden brown, it has the effect of clearing heat, releasing heat in the body; fried as is, it has the effect of stopping bleeding, stopping bleeding, and reducing inflammation. Some people remove the shell and take the core, soak it in licorice water for 1 night, then dry it. Some people use the whole shell to treat the upper burner, remove the shell to treat the lower burner, wash away the yellow substance, treat blood diseases by roasting it black, remove heat in the heart and chest area, use the core, remove heat in the superficial muscle area, use the shell. The fruit is very hygroscopic, so it must be checked regularly. Use 6-12g per day in the form of decoction. Nowadays, experimental pharmacology has proven that gardenia fruit has the following effects: choleretic, inhibits gastric secretion, relieves pain, lowers blood pressure, is antibacterial, lowers cholesterol and triglycerides, and reduces myocardial contractions. For the nervous system, it has a sedative effect, reduces spontaneous activity, and prolongs sleep time. The main compounds are iridoid glycosides, essential oils, and the pigments alpha-crocin and crocetin. The 11th ingredient is uat kim, made from turmeric with the scientific name curcuma longa. In traditional medicine, the root of turmeric is processed into turmeric, and the tuber is processed into uat kim. Turmeric is warm in nature, with the following effects: promoting qi, breaking blood, clearing menstruation, treating blood stasis, women with menstrual cramps, and numb and painful arms, while uat kim promotes qi, relieves depression, cools blood, breaks blood stasis, treats blood stasis, insanity, and heat coma. Uat kim is used 2-10 g per day, and khương hoàng is 4-6 g per day. Hai Thuong Lan Ong wrote about turmeric as follows: "Khuong hoang is the name of yellow turmeric root - grows everywhere in villages - soak day and night with rice water - dry used to treat tendons and heart pain, break blood, eliminate tumors - lower gas, clear urine - its specialty is - Uat kim is a yellow turmeric root - spicy and bitter, cold and neutral, pure and cool - should not be eaten raw, stir-fried with wine - cools blood, goes on the skin, its specialty is - hematuria, clears urine, very good - eliminates stagnation, helps people to be healthy". Black turmeric is also widely used in medicine under the name "nga truật", in modern Chinese medicine, an injection to treat cervical cancer has been produced from black turmeric. Chinese traditional medicine practitioners have distinguished the uses of yellow turmeric and black turmeric as follows: "Black turmeric breaks up the blood in the air, although it is a medicine to release air, but atractylodes is also beneficial for air, uat kim enters the heart, specializes in treating blood diseases, khương hoàng enters the spleen, treats air in the blood, atractylodes enters the liver, so treats blood in the air". Yellow turmeric has been used for a long time in traditional medicine, but only in the last few decades has it received attention from modern medicine, proving many new effects of turmeric, especially curcumin, so the demand for curcumin is increasing. The US National Cancer Institute ranks curcumin as a third-generation cancer chemopreventive agent, preventing chemicals that cause cancers: colon, duodenum, stomach, liver, lung... curcumin is an antioxidant 2.5 times stronger than vitamin C, reduces Alzheimer's disease, prevents atherosclerosis, myocardial infarction, lowers blood sugar, lowers cholesterol. The use value of turmeric is still being explored by scientists. In addition to curcumin, it has been proven that the polysaccharides ukon A, B, C have effects on the endothelial system, and tumerin - a water-soluble peptide with antioxidant effects at trace levels, will be a friendly food preservative in the future. But the most notable is the application of curcumin in the treatment of cancer.
In 2011, scientists at Toyama University, Japan, demonstrated that curcumin has the ability to prevent metastasis of the three most common and dangerous cancers today: stomach, liver and lung cancer, once again affirming the anti-cancer value of turmeric. Thus, in “An Cung Ngưu Hoàng Hoàn”, the famous physician Ngo Duong combined the medicinal herbs in a mutually supportive combination as follows: Ngưu hoàng has the function of clearing the mind, cooling the body, calming the nerves, and opening the orifices… Rhino horn cools the blood, detoxifies, calms the nerves, and calms the mind… musk clears the meridians, clears the orifices, and detoxifies, and relieves delirium caused by stroke… Pearl benefits the yin, clears heat, detoxifies, calms the yin and calms the mind… Cinnamon cools the heart, detoxifies, calms the nerves, and calms the mind… Realgar detoxifies, treats epilepsy… Camphor disperses wind and cold, clears the orifices, and treats heart weakness… Coptis chinensis purifies fire, detoxifies, cools yin fire, cools the heart, eliminates heat, and dries dampness… Scutellaria baicalensis is similar to Coptis chinensis in that it has the effect of eliminating heat and drying dampness in the body, but also clears heat, clears dampness and heat… Gardenia fruit purifies dampness and heat in the three burners, relieves heat and stagnation in the five limbs, clears heat and cools the blood, and calms the nerves… As for Uat Kim, blood circulation, urine stagnation removal

The effects are clear, but regarding safety when using, you need to pay close attention to the following points: The four ingredients are medicinal plants, you just need to pay attention to whether the gardenia fruit is moldy or not? In addition, there are 5 ingredients that need to be very careful: natural bezoar or synthetic bezoar, rhino horn or buffalo horn, pure musk or mixed with acacia seed powder, or synthetic musk, is cinnabar processed to reduce toxicity? What is the content of unbound mercury in the form of HgSe salt, natural cinnabar or artificial cinnabar? What is the % of arsenic in realgar, is it within the allowable range? Currently, Dong Nhan Duong-China does not use rhino horn, cinnabar and realgar in An cung nguu hoang hoan (According to the prescription in the medicine box, whether it is true or not needs further consideration). The formula of 3g pill of Dong Nhan Duong is as follows: Bezoar 168 mg, Musk 42 mg, Pearl 84 mg, Coptis root 168 mg, Scutellaria root 168 mg, Gardenia fruit 168 mg, Curcuma zedoaria 168 mg, Synthetic camphor 42 mg, with the following effects: clearing the mind, detoxifying, reducing convulsions and opening the senses. Indications for use in the following diseases: heart diseases, intracardiac stroke, clearing phlegm, high fever, crooked mouth, convulsions, coma, delirium. Above are some opinions for manufacturers, managers and users to consider.
