Smart personal finance management for students

On the morning of April 6, Dai Nam University coordinated with VnDirect to organize the workshop “Smart Finance for 20-year-olds”. The program aims to raise awareness and thinking about scientific and effective personal financial management for students.
Dr. Nguyen Viet Anh affirmed that the earlier we understand finance, the more it ensures the success of young people in the future.
The workshop was attended by: Dr. Nguyen Viet Anh, Vice Principal of Dai Nam University, Head of Business Administration; Associate Professor, Dr. Dam Van Hue, Head of Finance and Banking; Dr. Le The Anh, Head of Accounting; Dr. Do Thi Minh Thu, Acting Head of Economic Law; Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, Director of VnDirect's personal customer division.
Opening the program, Dr. Nguyen Viet Anh, Vice Principal of Dai Nam University, Head of the Faculty of Business Administration, said that understanding finance early will ensure the success of young people in the future.
At the same time, Dr. Nguyen Viet Anh also affirmed that Dai Nam University always cares and creates conditions for students to access finance and risk management right from the first year of university. Connecting with businesses is also one of the University's key points to bring practical knowledge and skills to students.
Within the framework of the program, students learned about the secret to choosing a career based on the model of increasing income over time, long-term competitive advantages, and how to conquer employers right after graduation.
Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh commented that most students today do not manage their personal finances effectively.
With the topic of “cryptocurrency investment” being of great interest, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, Director of VnDirect’s personal customer segment, emphasized that this is an investment product that is not protected by law, so there may be many risks. Therefore, young people need to consider carefully before deciding to invest.
In addition, Mr. Tuan Anh also commented that most students today do not manage their personal finances effectively. The reason is that young people come into contact with money quite late, usually when they go to university, they start working part-time and actively consider spending.
Students ask experts questions about smart financial management solutions for individuals.
Therefore, to have a better understanding of finance, young people need to improve their knowledge in the classroom, learn financial management experience from experts. Besides, they need to accumulate experience, build their brand and affirm their own value right from part-time jobs. Gradually, expand relationships and new job opportunities.
Sharing about the workshop, Associate Professor, Dr. Dam Van Hue, Head of the Faculty of Finance and Banking, commented: “In any stage of life, if you cannot manage your personal finances, it will be very difficult to become a successful and wealthy person. Also because of not managing your personal finances well, many people have gone bankrupt, fallen into the trap of loan sharks… Therefore, equipping students with knowledge about finance, especially personal financial management, is one of the practical activities in the training process.
This will be the foundation to help you know what you have now and what you will have to do to progress step by step in the investment process, job application, and how to make your account sustainable and develop in the long term."
