Semi-finals of the national startup competition Social Innovation Launch 2023: 03 Dai Nam University teams advance straight to the finals

Surpassing nearly 200 contestants from 28 high schools and universities across the country, 03 teams from Dai Nam University officially entered the TOP 5 Finals of the Social Innovation Launch (SIL) 2023 competition.

The “Social Innovation Launch 2023” competition is organized by Dai Nam University in collaboration with JCI Thang Long and Youth Plus. This is a useful academic playground that has resonated with the community of students who are passionate about startups.

After 5 months of rigorous training, education and challenges, the 11 best teams entered the Semi-finals of the competition - DemoDay1, taking place on January 19 at Dai Nam University.

Speaking at the Semi-finals, Mr. Dinh Quang Hung - Vice Principal emphasized: Dai Nam University is focusing all resources so that students can have the most experience, especially promoting student startups. The goal of the school is to find ways for students to self-study, be independent, teach themselves and overcome difficulties to succeed. The participation of 05 teams from Dai Nam University in the Semi-finals of the SIL 2023 competition is proof of the right direction of the school.

Mr. Dinh Quang Hung hopes that the projects of the SIL 2023 teams can be implemented and brought to market.

The SIL 2023 Semi-Finals were a fierce competition between 11 teams with creative, enthusiastic, and highly applicable project presentations. This year, the projects revolved around the following areas: Green Economy, E-Commerce, Agriculture, Digital Transformation, Healthcare - Health Care, Sustainable Tourism...

Impressive presentation skills and potential for practical application have brought 05 projects: Vietnam Carbon Credit; Mecop; Cadudes; A2Z – Save Food, Save Earth; Ngu Moc Thao to the final round of the SIL 2023 – DemoDay2 competition. Of which, 03 projects come from students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, E-commerce and Digital Economy of Dai Nam University.

The final top 5 of SIL 2023 have been officially revealed.

Nguyen Thi Thu Phuong - student of Dai Nam University, CEO of Ngu Moc Thao project, was moved: "Being in the TOP 5 final is something I did not expect. I feel extremely happy and proud of the whole team. We will overcome our limitations and further improve our project to be able to win the highest prize at the SIL 2023 Final round".

The project "Foot care with medicinal powder - Five-herb foot bath" prepared by students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Dai Nam University, advanced to the final round of SIL 2023.

Tran Quang Minh – a student at Foreign Trade University, CEO of the Vietnam Carbon Credit project shared: “I am proud to be guided by dedicated and enthusiastic mentors; to “compete” with talented, creative and courageous students from universities nationwide. SIL is a wonderful journey and we are determined to break through in the Final round”.

Mecop project's attractive and convincing presentation "surely" won the Top 5 finalists.

The team from the Faculty of E-commerce and Digital Economics, Dai Nam University "conquered" the judges with the project A2Z - Save Food, Save Earth.

Mr. Pham Duy - Head of training/incubation activities, at the National Center for Creative Startup Support - NSSC - member of the Jury shared: "I am quite surprised and impressed with the projects of the teams in this year's SIL competition in terms of both the professional content and the practical connections that the students have made and demonstrated".

Ms. Pham Thi Dung - Deputy Director of the Center for Student Employment and Entrepreneurship at Dai Nam University expressed: "Whether stopping or continuing, I hope you will maintain the flame of enthusiasm to develop and bring projects into reality "social impact" as the meaning of SIL; accompany SIL on the journey of spreading the passion for entrepreneurship to the whole society".

Ms. Pham Thi Dung is happy to see her "children" growing up and having many potential projects.

The final round of the Social Innovational Launch 2023 – DemoDay2 competition will take place on February 2, 2024 at Dai Nam University.
