"Rolled Straw" project won first prize in the 2016 Dai Nam Startup Competition

The “Rolled Straw” project of students from Thai Binh University had an impressive competition night and won First Prize in the Final Round of the Startup Competition with Dai Nam 2016 held on the evening of October 18 at Dai Nam University (Hanoi).
On the evening of October 18, at Dai Nam University (Ba La, Ha Dong, Hanoi), the final round of the Start-up with Dai Nam competition took place with the competition of 6 excellent teams.
As part of the National Startup Program initiated by VCCI, the Business Forum Newspaper is the permanent organizer. Startup with Dai Nam is a competition organized annually by the Dai Nam University Student Startup Club. This is an attractive, practical and useful competition for students of the economic sector in general and students of Dai Nam University in particular. The competition brings a major breakthrough in quality with the goal of providing maximum support for students to start real businesses, becoming entrepreneurs with their projects.
After launching in April 2016, the Organizing Committee received more than 50 projects from many universities and colleges and young people from localities across the country. After 2 rounds of project evaluation, the Jury consisting of senior lecturers on business start-ups and successful entrepreneurs in different fields selected 6 excellent projects to compete in the final round.
Many students came to cheer for the teams.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Final Night, Dr. Tran Van Trang, a member of the Jury, said: “Future entrepreneurs are like green shoots that cannot grow from the desert but must grow from fertile soil, nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit. From the perspective of trainers, we are willing to contribute our small part to creating entrepreneurial seeds, nurturing entrepreneurial talents and fostering the entrepreneurial spirit, contributing to the creation of a large team of entrepreneurs participating in the country's economic development. Today's competition is one of the efforts of Dai Nam University to participate in that spirit.”
At the Final Night, Journalist Pham Ngoc Tuan - Editor-in-Chief of the Business Forum Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the National Startup Program expressed his confidence in the great advantages of Dai Nam University students with the enthusiastic support from the Board of Directors and the School Board. Mr. Tuan affirmed that the Business Forum Newspaper will accompany Dai Nam in many activities to help the program develop further.
This year's jury includes: Mr. Pham Ngoc Tuan - Editor-in-Chief of Business Forum Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the National Startup Program; Dr. Luong Cao Dong - Vice President of Dai Nam University; Dr. Tran Van Trang - Head of the Faculty of Business Administration, Dai Nam University; Mr. Nguyen Van My - Senior Lecturer of CEFE, advisor of the National Startup Program; Mr. Phan Van Hieu - Chairman of the Board of Directors of CVI Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company.
The Final Night took place with the competition of 6 excellent projects. The teams had 3 minutes to present their group video, 7 minutes to present their project and 7 minutes to defend their project.
The teams defend their projects before the Board of Judges.
According to the Board of Judges, the Start-up with Dai Nam 2016 Competition has shown remarkable progress compared to last year. The competition attracted diverse participants, with entries from many universities in Hanoi. The quality of the participating projects was much better than in 2015.
The Organizing Committee awarded the First Prize to the authors of the project “Rolled Straw” by students of Thai Binh University and the Second Prize to the project “Rest Stop for Backpackers” by students of Dai Nam University.
The Organizing Committee awarded Third Prize to the authors of the project "Chicken Farm" and the project "Sprouts"
At the end of the final round, the project “Rolled Straw” by students from Thai Binh University won first prize. The project “Rest Stop for Backpackers” by students from Dai Nam University came in second. The project “Chicken Farm” and the project “Sprouts” both won third prize.
