Pioneer university with short-term training from 3 years

Short training time, continuous learning, early graduation, saving time and money, increasing career opportunities and self-development… are the criteria that GenZ puts first when choosing a major and choosing a school during this year's university admissions season.

In the 2023-2024 school year, Dai Nam University shortened the training time for majors applied from students of the 17th course.

Specifically:

Health sector from 04 - 05 years down to 3.5 - 4.5 years (Medical sector remains 6 years due to the specific nature of the profession);

Economic - Business Block from 04 years to 03 years;

Social Sciences block from 04 years down to 03 - 3.5 years;

The shortened training time to only 3 years has brought many outstanding benefits, approaching the common international standards in university training organization. At many large universities in countries such as England, France, America, Australia... the university training program is 3 years. In Vietnam, Dai Nam University is one of the first universities to apply this program. Through the shortened training time to only 3 years instead of 4 years as before, Dai Nam University hopes to bring maximum benefits to learners, helping students to graduate early, go to work early, and have income early while their peers at other universities have not yet completed the program.

1. Save time and money

After receiving her high school graduation exam scores, Nguyen Phuong Thuy (Hai Duong) decided to apply for admission to the Business Administration major at Dai Nam University as her first choice . “I chose Dai Nam University because the training period for Business Administration is only 3 years, I graduated 1 year early and during that time instead of spending money, I can go to work early to earn money to support my parents and quickly stabilize my life from 1 year.”

Dr. Le Dac Son - Chairman of the Board of Dai Nam University said: "Shortening the training time does not mean mechanically "cutting" the training duration but rather rearranging the time, strongly reforming the training program and content to suit social needs, meeting high-quality output standards. Applying digital technology to teaching effectively".

Accordingly, the training program teaches and learns core but advanced knowledge, trains students' self-study ability; maximum experience between studying and practicing at the enterprise helps students easily grasp knowledge, have the skills to apply theory into practice.

Regarding the value of the degree, Dr. Le Dac Son affirmed: The value of the degree of the shortened program remains unchanged because the undergraduate training program at Dai Nam University is designed with a minimum of 122 credits. The school ensures the training of the above amount of credits by shortening the summer vacation, increasing the intensity and speeding up the training progress to study 3 semesters/year. Therefore, after graduating from the undergraduate training program (3 years), students will receive a Bachelor's degree in the regular university system. After graduating from the specialized training program at level 7 (studying for 4.5 years), students will receive a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or University Pharmacy.

3. Practice, practice early

The training time is shortened to 3 - 4.5 years, which means that the time for practice and internship at enterprises is also pushed up earlier. If in the past, students started their internship from year 3 and internship in year 4, now students can do their internship right from the first year of university.

Graduating early helps students quickly access the labor market and find suitable jobs. While students from other schools have not yet graduated or are struggling to find jobs, graduates from Dai Nam University already have 0.5 - 1 year of work experience and are on the way to developing their careers.

In particular, students graduating in December will have more job opportunities. This is the time when businesses have many changes in personnel and have a large recruitment demand. The level of competition during this period is also not high because students have not graduated yet and must complete their study program in 0.5 - 01 year.

4 methods of admission to Dai Nam University in 2023

In 2023, Dai Nam University will enroll full-time undergraduate students in 24 training majors in 04 groups: Health, Engineering - Technology, Economics - Business, Social Sciences.

Method 1: Use the results of 03 subjects from the high school graduation exam results according to the registered combination for admission consideration.

Candidates whose exam results meet the quality assurance threshold prescribed by the School after receiving the 2023 high school graduation exam results, except for the Health Sector, as prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training.

Method 2: Use the transcript results, scores of 3 subjects from the 12th grade high school study results according to the registered combination for admission consideration.

• Medicine and Pharmacy majors must have a grade 12 academic record of Excellent or a high school graduation score of 8.0 or higher and a total score of 3 subjects according to the admission combination of ≥ 24 points.
• Nursing major must have a grade 12 academic record of Good or higher or a high school graduation score of 6.5 or higher and a total score of 3 subjects according to the admission combination of ≥ 19.5 points.
• For other majors: total score of 3 subjects according to admission combination ≥ 18 points.

Method 3: Direct admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the School.

In addition to the general condition that candidates must graduate from high school or equivalent, candidates must meet one of the regulations on direct admission specified in Article 8 of the University Admissions Regulations of Dai Nam University.

Method 4: Admission of foreign high school graduates.

Admission major: Medicine (50 quotas).

In addition to the general condition that candidates must graduate from high school or equivalent as above, candidates applying for admission must meet the mandatory condition of graduating from high school abroad or in Vietnam.
