In order to learn from experience and orient nursing training, Dai Nam University in collaboration with Asia Human Resources Support Organization (AJK) and International Welfare Business Association (KFJK) hosted the International Conference "Nursing and Elderly Care in Vietnam, Lessons from Japan" on June 9, 2018 at Meliá Hanoi Hotel.
In order to learn from experience and orient nursing training, Dai Nam University in collaboration with Asia Human Resources Support Organization (AJK) and International Welfare Business Association (KFJK) hosted the International Conference "Nursing and Elderly Care in Vietnam, Lessons from Japan" on June 9, 2018 at Meliá Hanoi Hotel.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), nursing, together with three factors : treatment, medicine/medical equipment, and logistics , are important factors that form the four pillars of the medical examination and treatment service system. The current situation of nursing human resources in Vietnam is still lacking in quantity and quality. The demand for quality care services is increasing in every country, especially in developed countries such as Germany, the US, Canada, Japan, etc. In this context, Dai Nam University, in collaboration with the Asian Human Resources Support Organization (AJK) and the International Welfare Business Association (KFJK), chaired the International Conference "Nursing and Elderly Care in Vietnam, Lessons from Japan".
The workshop attracted the attention of the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Health, speakers from Japan and scholars, managers from universities and colleges nationwide. At the workshop, 04 typical reports were presented. First were 02 reports on lessons learned from Japan "Basic concepts of epidemiology" - reported by Prof. Koji Kawakami - President of the School of Medicine and Public Health, Kyoto University and "Concepts of advanced medical treatment in Japan" - reported by Prof. Norihiro Matsuoka - Kyoto University.

Professor Norihiro Matsuoka presented feasible cooperation projects in the field of nursing. The professor also emphasized that Japan is implementing a policy to attract additional human resources from abroad, in which the demand for human resources from Vietnam is very large. This is a great opportunity for nursing students in general and Dai Nam University in particular to participate in advanced vocational training programs in Japan.
Following the above report, the representative of the Ministry of Health, Ms. Doan Quynh Anh, presented a detailed picture of "Orientation for developing human resources in the nursing industry in Vietnam in the next 5-10 years" . The report analyzed the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, challenges and development orientation of the nursing industry in the coming time.
As a training institution, aiming to contribute to training nursing bachelors to meet the requirements of the labor market, Dai Nam University brought to the seminar "Nursing professional standards in Vietnam; training program content and methods of nursing bachelors at Dai Nam University to meet social needs" presented by Associate Professor Nguyen Thi Bach Tuyet - Vice President of Vietnam Internal Medicine Association, Vice Principal.
Following the above report, the representative of the Ministry of Health, Ms. Doan Quynh Anh, presented a detailed picture of "Orientation for developing human resources in the nursing industry in Vietnam in the next 5-10 years" . To implement the training policy to meet the above social needs, Dr. Le Dac Son - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dai Nam University shared: "Dai Nam University builds the program, content and training methods based on the competency standards of Vietnamese and ASEAN nurses. The content and training methods of bachelor of nursing at Dai Nam University meet the needs of society. The school has signed a cooperation agreement on training and employment with Japan to provide maximum support for students such as: fully supporting the cost of studying Japanese, arranging paid internships at nursing facilities in Japan so that learning always goes hand in hand with practice"
