New Specialization Program of Taiwan Ministry of Education: Expanding Scholarship and Long-term Work Opportunities in Taiwan for Vietnamese Students

With the new Specialized Program (INTENSE) of the Ministry of Education of Taiwan, Vietnamese students can receive a 2-year scholarship of 100,000 NTD/year (about 80 million VND/year), receive support from businesses of 10,000 NTD/month (about 8 million VND/month), and after graduation, are given priority to stay and work long-term in Taiwan.

This information was shared at the program "Exchange with Taiwanese partner schools and Introduction of new Specialized Program in Vietnam" organized by representatives of the Ministry of Education of Taiwan, representatives of Taiwanese universities, and representatives of the Taiwan Education Office Project for Training International Talents in Vietnam in Hanoi at Dai Nam University.

Based on the Letter of Trust from Longhua University of Science and Technology, Dai Nam University handles administrative procedures related to the "Exchange Program with Taiwanese Partner Schools and Introduction of New Major Program in Vietnam"

The program was attended by leaders of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam; representatives of 12 prestigious universities in Taiwan including National Taiwan University, Lunghwa University of Science and Technology, Ming Hsin University of Science and Technology, Taiwan Steel University of Science and Technology, National Chung Cheng University, Dairen University of Science and Technology, Taipei Medical University, Feng Chia University, Jingyi University, Kunshan University of Science and Technology, Asia University, FU Jen University, etc.

On the side of Vietnamese universities, there were delegates from Dai Nam University, University of Commerce, Vinh Medical University, University of Foreign Languages - Thai Nguyen University, University of Mining and Geology, Hanoi University of Construction, Hanoi University of Industry, Phenikaa University, Sao Do University, Viet Tri University of Industry, CMC University, Hoa Binh University, Bac Giang University of Agriculture and Forestry, Hanoi Industrial Vocational College, Vinh Phuc Vocational College, Vietnam College of Industry and Trade, Vietnam - Korea Bac Giang Vocational College of Technology.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Cat Tu Tuong, Principal - Head of the delegation of Longhua University of Science and Technology - the school in charge of the project "Taiwan Education Office for Training Vietnamese International Talents in Hanoi" (INTACT) said: The Ministry of Education of Taiwan promotes the international talent training program, promotes the new Specialized Scholarship program to encourage more and more outstanding international talents to study in Taiwan, receive Taiwanese degrees and build strong relationships with Taiwanese businesses.

Mr. Cat Tu Tuong thanked Dai Nam University for standing side by side with Long Hoa University of Science and Technology to overcome all difficulties to establish the INTACT Office, thereby deepening the friendly exchange and cooperation between the two sides.

“We hope that through its operations, INTACT will be able to recruit more outstanding talents in fields related to STEM, finance and semiconductor technology to Taiwan for advanced studies. After achieving academic achievements, you will work at Taiwanese enterprises, contributing to the common development of Vietnam and Taiwan.”

Prof. Giac Van Uc - Vice President of National Taiwan University said: INTACT Office in Vietnam will provide all funding for Chinese language training for students who wish to study in Taiwan (including online and offline learning).

With the participation of 12 Taiwanese universities, it is expected that a total of 38 new specialized courses will be offered in STEM, Finance and Semiconductor Technology related fields. In case of positive enrollment, it is expected that 10 new specialized courses with about 300 quotas will be provided exclusively for Vietnamese students, including Bachelor's, Post-Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral courses in 2 years.

Dr. Le Dac Son - Chairman of the Board of Dai Nam University emphasized: "The exchange program with Taiwanese partner schools and the introduction of the new Specialized Program in Vietnam" is an important event, marking a turning point in the training of high-quality human resources of Dai Nam University. I believe that, with the existing foundations of the University and the close cooperation and support from leading technology schools in Taiwan, Dai Nam University will become a prestigious and top-quality address for training human resources in the fields of Semiconductor Technology, Finance, and Stem in Vietnam; actively contributing to the development of the country".

Dr. Le Dac Son said: In 2024, Dai Nam University will open 13 new majors in the fields of Engineering - Technology, Economics - Business, Social Sciences and Humanities to anticipate future human resource trends, including majors that are hot trends in the world, such as: Semiconductor Technology, Financial Technology - Fintech, Information Systems,...

To mark an important milestone in strengthening and developing the educational cooperation relationship between the two countries, Taiwanese universities and Vietnamese universities have officially signed a memorandum of understanding; bringing extremely practical, meaningful and highly applicable training programs to Vietnamese students.

The “handshake” between Taiwanese universities and Vietnamese universities opens up many opportunities for Vietnamese students to study and work in the international market.

Also at the program, representatives of Taiwanese universities gave detailed introductions about the schools, learning environment, international student recruitment programs and scholarship policies. This information helps students have a comprehensive view of Taiwanese universities, thereby making appropriate choices for the future.
