Graduated from Hanoi University of Pharmacy in 1978, Dr. Le Thi Kim Loan worked at the Institute of Medicinal Materials - Ministry of Health. In 1979, following the general mobilization order of the President, the young girl decided to leave the capital to join the army and work at the Military Hospital - Military Region I. In 1982, she transferred to the Institute of Medicinal Materials - Ministry of Health to work, teach and study for a PhD in Pharmacy. Although she was a researcher, Ms. Loan started teaching very early. For her, scientific research and teaching are her passions.
“A good scientific researcher will be a good lecturer. These two fields have great similarities and support each other. Doing research and teaching at an early age helped me gradually fill in the gaps in my knowledge, and improve and enhance my professional capacity day by day…” , said Dr. Le Thi Kim Loan.
Sharing about the opportunity to join the Continuing Education Center for Pharmacy - Dai Nam University, Dr. Le Thi Kim Loan said: “In 2015, I accepted to work at the Continuing Education Center for Pharmacy - Dai Nam University, taking on the position of Head of the Department of Medicinal Materials - Traditional Medicine. This is the field I have spent a lot of time and passion researching. Dai Nam University is the place that helps me continue to pursue my passion, imparting to students professional knowledge, experience, practical skills and instilling in students love and professional responsibility…”

Explaining the problem of how to make Pharmacy students both solid in professional knowledge and have good professional skills, Dr. Loan especially emphasized the practical element in training Pharmacists.

“At the Continuing Education Center for Pharmacy, Dai Nam University, practical teaching is especially important, from basic medical subjects such as pathology, microbiology, parasitology... to basic sciences such as physical chemistry, analytical chemistry... and specialized subjects such as pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology, clinical pharmacy, botany, medicinal herbs, traditional medicine, preparation, drug production techniques... Most of the subjects in the school's Pharmacy training program are practiced at a ratio of 50/50 (50% theory, 50% practice), even many practical subjects account for 70-80%...", Dr. Le Thi Kim Loan said.
In order to best meet the practical and practical needs of Pharmacy students, Dai Nam University has invested in building a system of practice rooms equipped with many modern machines, especially practice rooms for drug preparation and production. In addition to listening to theoretical lectures, Pharmacy students are exposed to modern equipment in pharmaceutical testing, drug production and directly prepare pharmaceutical products.
