Nearly one billion invested in modern equipment to serve information technology students

Realizing the essential needs in recruiting IT workers and student output. In addition to the training content according to the standard program of IT engineers, Dai Nam University has focused on improving professional skills for students during the learning process, focusing on investing in modern equipment and machinery to serve the learning and practice needs of students. On May 26, 2016, the equipment and machinery were brought to the School with 5 high-configuration Dell Servers (CPU: 2cpu/12core/24threads, 2.66Ghz RAM: 64G (8G*8) ECC DDRAM 3, HDD: 2*2TB WD RE, 2 x RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet, Power: 2*750W), 2 CISCO WS-C3750G Switches ( 24 Gigabit Ethernet ports and 4 SFP), 5 Cisco 2811 Routers , 5 Cisco Switches (WS-C2960-24-S 24), 1 Draytek Vigor3300B+ , 2 FPT fiber optic lines with 2 static IPs and many other practical equipment with a value of up to nearly one billion VND.

With the number of modern invested machines, Dai Nam University has added international standard programs for students of information technology: CCNA, LPIC (Linux), CEH, Openstack, Vmware, Cloudcomputing, Microsoft MCSA, Pfsense, Mail Zimbra, Exchange...., thereby students have full knowledge and practical skills so that when graduating, they can work immediately at domestic and foreign enterprises.
In addition, the Faculty of Information Technology has cooperated with businesses and IT associations, inviting world-class experts and domestic experts such as Viettel, VNPT, Fedora, IWAY, Netnam, Openstack, VFOSSA.... to regularly work and guide students to grasp and deploy the latest technologies. Currently, students in the Faculty of Information Technology have successfully built and mastered the eMail system on the Zimbra open source platform, which can manage 9,000 accounts of students, teachers and staff in the school; familiarized with Openstack virtualization technology, especially creating nearly 100 public virtual servers (VPS) so that students in the Faculty can practice without needing high-configuration computers, both in class and at home.

High-configuration machines to serve students' practice needs

For students who have enough working experience at school, the Faculty of Information Technology cooperates with businesses to send them for internships to increase their exposure, change their environment, and help them adapt to all the harsh conditions of recruiting businesses (Viettel, Vnpt, Netnam, FTP, Banks...). Through the process of internships, job applications, and work, students will summarize their experiences and save them for the following courses to learn from. After 2 years of operation, Dai Nam FOSS Club has more than 150 active and enthusiastic members who regularly organize seminars to popularize the latest technologies for students in the entire faculty and connect students with Open Source communities with the enthusiastic support of the Vietnam Free and Open Source Software Club (VFOSSA).
Dai Nam University is a young university, but with timely investment and strategic vision from the Board of Directors, it has helped IT students access the latest technology in the world and in the country. Thereby, improving students' skills and professional knowledge, so that Dai Nam students will graduate as skilled IT engineers, meeting the recruitment needs at home and abroad.
