With the goal of improving research capacity and professional qualifications for students, on the morning of May 17, the Faculty of Pharmacy - Dai Nam University organized the "2nd Dai Nam Pharmaceutical Youth Science and Technology Conference" with many excellent topics of high applicability.

With the goal of improving research capacity and professional qualifications for students, on the morning of May 17, the Faculty of Pharmacy - Dai Nam University organized the "2nd Dai Nam Pharmaceutical Youth Science and Technology Conference" with many excellent topics of high applicability.

Dr. Pham Van Nguyen - Vice Principal, Head of Pharmacy Faculty delivered the opening speech of the Conference.

The conference was attended by the Board of Directors, leaders of the Faculty of Pharmacy, staff, lecturers of Departments, Faculties, Institutes, Centers and a large number of students from the whole school.

The 2nd Dai Nam Pharmaceutical Youth Science and Technology Conference attracted the attention of many staff, lecturers and students throughout the school.

Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Dr. Pham Van Nguyen - Vice Principal, Head of the Faculty of Pharmacy said: “ Scientific research is one of the important and compulsory activities in the teaching and learning of Dai Nam University in general and the Faculty of Pharmacy in particular. The 2nd Dai Nam Pharmaceutical Youth Science and Technology Conference was held to evaluate and recognize excellent scientific research works with high practical application of students. At the same time, it creates an intellectual and healthy playground for students in the faculty to exchange experiences and scientific research results. Thereby improving research capacity and professional qualifications, and better understanding the role of youth in scientific research activities…”

The jury strictly evaluates the students' research works.

The “2nd Dai Nam Pharmaceutical Youth Science and Technology Conference” contest was launched in early 2019 with 20 registered topics. After a long period of research, in the preliminary round, the organizing committee judged and selected 7 best topics to present at the Conference.
The scientific works reported at this year's Conference were assessed by the Jury as having good quality, carefully prepared, high scientific value, creativity and practical value.

Candidates confidently presented their research topics at the Conference.

Sharing with us, MSc. Do Thi Ha - Head of the Jury, commented: “The 7 research projects competing in this year’s Conference are highly creative and practical. In particular, the quality of students’ scientific research is increasingly approaching science and technology. This is an important premise and stepping stone to help students develop their capacity, integrate and work and research in any environment…”

Dr. Pham Van Nguyen awarded the First Prize to student Nguyen Duy Hung - Pharmacy class 08-08

The jury selected according to the scoring criteria and selected excellent topics to award prizes. The first prize went to student Nguyen Duy Hung - Pharmacy class 08-08 with the topic "Research on the chemical composition of the Bitter Tea plant". The second prize went to student Nguyen Thi Thanh Xuan - Pharmacy class 08-05 with the topic "Survey on the use of antibiotics to treat pneumonia in children at the Bac Giang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital". The third prize went to student Nguyen Anh Tu - Pharmacy class 08-02 with the topic "Research on improving the dosage form of the traditional medicine Tieu Sai Ho" and student Nguyen Trong Phuc - Pharmacy class 08-08 with the topic "Research on the extraction process of Wedelolactone-rich extract from the plant Nhọ nước". The Encouragement Prize went to student Duong Thi Thu Trang - Pharmacy class 8-06 with the topic "Research on botanical characteristics and chemical composition of a species of Croton hirtus, Euphorbiaceae family", student Phan Thanh Linh - Pharmacy class 08-02 with the topic "Research on botanical characteristics and chemical composition of Zingiber zerumbet (L) Roscoe ex Sm, Zingiberaceae family" and student Nguyen Hong Ngoc - Pharmacy class 08-05 with the topic "Development and validation of a method for quantifying vitamin B1 in injectable solutions using high-performance liquid chromatography".

With the contributions and achievements in the second Dai Nam Pharmaceutical Science and Technology Conference, Dai Nam University is on the rise in training, and affirming its position in vocational education in general, and Pharmacy in particular.
