Principal Mai Thi Hien said: This is the “final stretch” so students are very conscious of studying. According to the wishes of families and students, the school still arranges a normal schedule for grade 12 students from now until June 22.

Accordingly, in the morning, review classes will be organized under the guidance of teachers; in the afternoon, students will review on their own. The school is ready to create conditions for students to come to class to study in groups.

According to Ms. Hien, at this time, in addition to reviewing key knowledge, the school also reminds teachers to increase students' practice with sample exam questions that the Ministry of Education and Training has announced.

As an experienced teacher, Ms. Mac Thi Hang - a Math teacher at Lao Cai High School No. 1 - shared: "Currently, we are increasing the practice of exercises suitable for each student's ability. At the same time, we train students in the skills of presenting an exam to achieve the highest score."

At Lao Cai Ethnic Boarding High School, according to Principal Do Minh Tam, this year the whole school has 171 12th grade students participating in the National High School Exam, of which 158 students will take the exam at the inter-provincial exam cluster and 13 students will take the exam at the local exam cluster.

Like many other high schools, at this time, the school mainly increases practice sessions and trains students in test-taking skills such as: How to allocate time, skills in taking multiple-choice tests and essays, etc.

According to Mr. Tam, to make the students' review most effective, the school has arranged classes according to the number of students registering for the exam and their learning level.

“There is still more than 1 month left until the national high school exam . This is the most important stage for 12th grade students, so we ask teachers to increase their testing and assessment of their academic performance to know their progress in learning so that they can have appropriate training methods.

In this final stage, we also encourage and guide students to study in groups (about 3 students per group, maximum 5 students). In the group, there must be at least 1 student with good or better academic performance to help the others progress in their studies. According to the plan, we will organize review sessions for students from now until June 22nd" - Mr. Tam shared.

It is known that in this year's National High School Exam, the whole Lao Cai province has 6,762 candidates taking the exam, of which 3,415 candidates take the exam cluster in the province and 3,347 candidates take the exam cluster hosted by the University located in Viet Tri City (Phu Tho).

In the local examination clusters, Lao Cai province will establish 10 examination sites in 9 districts and cities. Van Ban district alone will have 2 examination sites due to the large number of candidates. In addition, this year the province also has 523 independent candidates taking the National High School Examination.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Ninh - Director of Lao Cai Department of Education and Training - said: Immediately after the Ministry of Education and Training officially announced the plan for the National High School Exam, the Department widely disseminated and promoted to parents, students as well as teachers about the new points of this year's exam. The Department also directed schools to organize counseling for students to register for exams and provide career guidance for them.

“At this time, we also ask schools to organize review sessions for students in the direction of closely following the sample exam questions of the Ministry of Education and Training. For students with weak academic performance, we need to increase tutoring for them so that they can confidently enter the upcoming exam. As for good and excellent students, we can guide them to practice solving advanced questions.

In particular, we also directed schools to continue to disseminate information about the new points of the exam to stabilize the mindset and psychology of students and parents.
