Ms. Pham Thi Dung – The person who “paved the way” for success for Dai Nam students

At Dai Nam University, mentioning Ms. Pham Thi Dung - Director of the Center for Employment and Entrepreneurship is mentioning a person who is always devoted to the future of students. Her journey is not only about work, but also an inspiring story of dedication and companionship.

"I don't know what to do..."

One morning at the beginning of the week, Van - a first-year IT student - entered the Center with a worried face. Van hesitated: "Teacher, I study this major because my parents oriented me, but I like Languages more. I'm afraid I can't keep up."

Ms. Dung listened attentively and gently asked questions to help Van discover what she really wanted. After the conversation, Van beamed and shared: “Thank you. Now I really understand what major is right for me.”

A bridge of opportunity

That afternoon, Ms. Dung was busy with a career guidance program – a job that she always put a lot of passion into. From the first days of taking on the role of Center Director, she clearly stated: “Career guidance is not just about finding a job, but also about helping students realize their own potential.”

Ngoc Anh, a final year student of the English Language Department, shared: “Thanks to her guidance, I was able to find a suitable internship. She not only helped me prepare my CV and practice interview skills, but also encouraged me to be confident when starting work.”

Not only does she support job searches, Ms. Dung also accompanies students with startup ideas.

Nguyen Huu Quan - a student of the Faculty of Business Administration - recounted the journey of "transforming" the social project "Border Dream" into a social enterprise: "At first, I encountered many difficulties in concretizing the idea. Ms. Dung enthusiastically guided me, helped me clearly define the plan and connect with the necessary resources. Thanks to her support, my project developed into a social enterprise and entered the Top 10 of the Social Innovation Launch 2023 competition."

Not only for Ngoc Anh and Huu Quan, Ms. Dung is also a “bridge” that brings hundreds of students to job opportunities, internships and even start-up projects. Ms. Pham Thi Dung’s dedication and professional working methods have contributed to helping Dai Nam University get closer to the goal: 100% of students do internships in the right field and have jobs after graduation .

Once, a student called at 10pm, worried about an important presentation for a competition the next day. Ms. Dung not only listened but also carefully guided her through each step of preparation, from content to presentation, while reassuring her: “Tomorrow, just be calm and confident, I believe you can do it. I will be there tomorrow morning to support you.”

That encouragement has given students strength, helped them overcome pressure and achieve unexpected results.

Another time, when she received a message from a student who was wondering about becoming a class officer, she arranged a meeting to discuss. She took the time to guide each student on how to manage time, handle work, and organize activities. Those practical sharings helped the student feel more confident in his role.

For Ms. Dung, each student's story is not only a problem to be solved but also an opportunity to guide, motivate and build confidence for them on their journey to maturity.

The journey never stops

Despite her busy work schedule, Ms. Dung always prioritizes time to update recruitment trends, expand connections with businesses and organize practical training sessions for students.

She shared: “I hope that every Dai Nam student will be welcomed by businesses right from their studies and be ready to enter the working environment with solid capacity right after graduation.”

With her dedication and enthusiasm, Ms. Dung not only accompanies but also inspires, opening up many opportunities for generations of Dai Nam students. For young people, she is not only the director of the Career Center but also a teacher, a companion, a devoted mother and a friend who is always ready to share on every journey.
